The Government is warning people about an influx of predatory hornets that could threaten Britain's fragile honey bee population.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) is drafting plans to combat the threat of the Asian hornet, a predatory bee species that feasts on other insects and is capable of wiping out honey bee hives.

The Asian Hornet is a frightening insect and the demise of Honey is a real threat. I just cannot see them arriving here in great numbers over the water, I am glad we have 'plans' in place but it all seems a bit Hollywood to me.

I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to show me where the hell Helen of Annoy has been for the past couple of months.
