Got a short yet mind boggling question? Post here!

Mine is: If internet slang is the norm, is a dyslexic considered normal, or will they start typing standard English to be out of the norm involuntarily?

I have no clue, dyslexia can cover a myriad of reading disorders.

How do blind people know when they are done wiping?

Learn the difference between a reading disorder, laziness, bad spelling and leetspeak and your question will then answer itself.

Shouldn't this thread be in the fun and games section if this is the kind of questions it will be throwing up?

I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny. Anyway, it's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.

Epimenides the Cretan says "All Cretans are liars."

Does he speak the truth?

Yes, despite being a liar he is capable of telling the truth too.

Sorry I have no question to add.

The question is not what he's hypothetically capable of. The question remains, is he telling the truth in the above proposition.

Hey, if you don't like the answers don't ask the questions ;)

My new answer is yes, with no explanations.

One is not obliged to accept vacuous answers.

That's a response, not an answer.

Points to post #3 of this thread ;)

Now you have read that I will rephrase my post...

Now that the questioning is a bit more philosophical it might be time for me to exit to the Fun and Games section that I suggested others should be using earlier in the thread...

Point taken. There are many logical paradoxes like the one I cited. The OP's "mind boggling question" is just a straight forward question as you noted.

Indeed, many of which would have made better openings for the thread, especially considering its location.

So seeing as the ball is in my court and your original post is so far back, lets re-bait the hook. ;)

No, Epimenides does not speak the truth.  Not all Cretans are liars, but we can be sure that Epimenides is.

I thought you raised a valid question - does a liar always lie?

Unless you reinterpret the wording, there is no correct answer, that's why it's a paradox. I wouldn't encourage people to spend too much time trying to resolve this one, you might hurt yourself. :)
