I just edited someone else's post, accidentally, I quoted it and then didn't move down enough when I replied.

This has never happened before. Have you always been able to edit someone else's post when you quote it?

Where: Thread, "So, mountain Monster... BS" under Crypto forum.

You can see Hida Akechi's post I quoted. I was able to accidentally add to it. I've erased my words from Akechi's quote.

Nevermind, I guess if I can delete parts of a quote I can also add to it.

I've done so to remove blank lines and linked images just so it is all not being reposted multiple times.

Yes, especially when someone posts a wall of text and you only want to address a single point they made. You have to have the ability to edit what you're directly responding to. We just have to be honest.

My bad.

But it's not advisable to do what I just did in a debate situation.  We're all trusted to do the right thing.

You live and you learn......

Here at Intel we make processors on 12 inch wafers. And, the individual processors on the wafers are called die. And, I am employed to check these die. That is why I am the DieChecker.

I usually remove the video links and the images when I quote someone to avoid spamming the thread with unnecessary content.

I  usually insert ellipsis where material is removed, the dot dot dot.

The quote feature includes a link to the quoted post, this icon Posted Image takes you to it.
It should be easy to tell if your quote doesn't match the post.
