Space Station Live: Expedition 40 Science Under Way!

MSFC's Lori Meggs interviews Payload Operations Director Mike Shell from the Marshall Space Flight Center about the start of Expedition 40 science. Astronauts conduct science daily across a wide variety of fields, including human life sciences, biological science, human physiology, physical and materials science, and Earth and space science. The Payload Operations Integration Center is the heartbeat for ISS research operations. This is the weekly POIC segment from MSFC and aired during Space Station Live on June 4, 2014.

"Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-boggingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the street to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space." - The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams 1952 - 2001
