A KYOTO high school student named Yu had an unusual journey into school. He saw a giant salamander approximately a metre in length walking along the path by a river bank.

He said: "I was just walking without really paying any attention to it but once I got close to it, it started to move. That's when I realized it was this giant salamander and how I discovered it".

Poor wee Sal the Amphibian, lolling about like a fish out of water.  He's lucky that Yu found him.  Well done, Yu!  :)

What?  No fuzzy photos?  No grainy videos?  This has to be a fake!

Seriously, an ugly creature to my eyes, but it's sad that it might be endangered.

Because of course something so stupid looking/ potentially terrifying comes from Japan.

I reject your reality, and substitute my own! Mostly because yours is boring as hell.
