'An ancient statue that was recovered by a Nazi expedition in the 1930s was originally carved from a highly valuable meteorite.

Researchers say the 1,000-year-old object with a swastika on its stomach is made from a rare form of iron with a high content of nickel.  They believe it is part of the Chinga meteorite, which crashed about 15,000 years ago.  The findings appear in the Journal, Meteoritics and Planetary Science.  The 24cm (9-inch) tall statue is 10kg (22lb) and is called the Iron Man.'

The swastika symbol was essentially 'stolen' by Hitler and now symbolizes pretty much the opposite of what it originally did. Kind of sad when you think about it.

If you look at the image in the link, the 'legs' go backwards, the nazi version had the 'legs' going forward, so just a subtle difference really.

Anyway, did you know.... The swastika could be found on the shoulder patches of the American 45th Division - and on the Finnish air force until after World War II.

In fact, cast an eye down this list to see just how many western countries have used it!

The swastika is an ancient symbol that's been demonised.

Its worth noting that German Nationalists, with the same kind of leanings as the nazis, used the swastika in the 19th Century well before Hitler and his cronies

This is the more common Jain symbol, that I decline to use, just to save time arguing.

Thats cool though it might look even more stunning with a highly polished finish.  Check out some Chingas here...
