Sundew Posted November 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Along with the Elephant Bird, Madagascar had several giant lemur species that went extinct after the aboriginal people arrived but before the island's discovery by Europeans. This sad saga has been repeated in many island habitats, such as New Zealand which lost the Moas and the Haast's Eagles.
