As the Festive Seasonal Season appears to be not very far off, I thought we could bring out an old seasonal favourite, don't you. No, Google spell checker, Favourite does have a U in it. Anyway, as I was saying, Olf lived in a small log cabin in a fjord in Norway with his long suffering wife Helga. He was a stalwart of the local Communist party, but despite, or perhaps because of, this, he was noted for being somewhat brusque, particularly with his long suffering wife, Helga, for whom he nevertheless had a sneaking affection. One morning, Helga looked out of the window at the clouds rolling in off the mountains. "I would not at all be surprised", she said, "if we be in for snow." Olf looked out of the window. "Snow? You daft old tart, that bain't be snow, that be rain, you mark my words." "That be snow, oi tell you", insisted Helga. "Snow?" said Olf. "Was you dropped on your 'Ead as a child so that all the brains came out of your ears? That be rain oi tell you." "It be snow", Helga insisted adamantly, with her arms folded. acute Posted December 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2014 Ok, I have a few points to make here. Point one..... The 'u' in 'favourite' was totally unnecessary. I would have understood the word perfectly well without the 'u', and it would have saved you time. Point two..... The joke is awful. Point three..... Here is a (somewhat) better one: (from a juggler at Santa Land many years ago) How many reindeer pull Santa's sleigh? ...so we count them... 1. Dasher 2. Dancer 3. Prancer 4. Vixen 5. Comet 6. Cupid 7. Donder 8. Blitzen 9. Rudolf Wrong there are ten!
