Should we beam the Internet in to space ?

Recommended Posts

Oh that is a marvellous idea, you know, despite most of the current population being stuck with slow internet speeds, we don't need some Aliens coming here and blowing us up just because they couldn't stream quick enough on YouTube.

Yes. Just the mere thought that other worldly life forms may not yet have had a chance to read some of the interesting things humanity has produced is offensive.

I mean how else will the aliens find out about the Nazi Chic?

http://www.vice.com/read/nazis-chic-is-asias-offensive-fashion-craze-456

Or about Blue Beard/Gilles de Rais?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilles_de_Rais

Or mustard gas? Or the Khmer genocide of the last century? Or the witch hunts? Or the fact that nobody goes to the bathroom on tv?

These are things advanced alien civilizations with ancient intelligences stretching back across uncounted millennia need to know.

99% porn. I wouldn't do it.

All the more reason to do it

It would be kind of neat to have a REAL alien post on this board though...

What a ridiculous idea <_<

It is entirely possible that any alien civilisation has not gone down the route of creating thermonuclear devices, perhaps they never had to. Beam out the basic physics (available on the internet) of how to construct such a device would be laughable, not to mention extremely dangerous if such devices were the Earth's only possible response to a non - friendly alien culture and they were able to respond in like manner then we are stuffed.

Perhaps their entire push was in terms of creating drives capable of penetrating deep space without going down the military route, what defence would the earth have of countering such an attack if we gave them the blueprints?

It is possible that creating "warp drives" would give them the capability of creating Particle Beam weapons - but these can be counteracted by massive EMP pulses that are created with nuclear weapons.

It is all fantasy and speculation at the moment, but do not give up all of Earths secrets and advances for some woolly minded, hippy belief, that all aliens are going to be friendly.

Why have not these entities broadcast THEIR internet data to Earth?

May well be the cheapest form of planetary defense there is. Just think, what intelligent life form would bother to come here after a couple of days on YouTube? Heck beam Facebook into space and kill them all. LOL

Good God NO! 90% of the content of the Net is either total garbage or shameful. The Deepnet worst of all.

They should project the internet onto a massive space flag and torture aliens with random human garbage.

That is in violation of Star Trek's Prime Directive. What is his next worse proposal? To equip all institutions for the mentally unbalanced with the trigger for mutual nuclear destruction?

Let's see if there is a correlation between the broadcast and increased abductions with probings!

Beaming the internet into space might just be our best defence against alien invasion. :w00t:
