Considering what is going on in the world today - this is rather unsettling.

At least it is being properly addressed for the first time.

The UN's nuclear watchdog is urging the international community to take measures to keep their nuclear facilities safe from ever-growing cyber threats in the first-ever conference on the subject.

With cyber-attacks on the financial sector and state sponsored attacks on the internet on the up, a new international organization to police cyber space is needed Eugene Kaspersky, Chairman and CEO of Kaspersky Lab, told RT.

There's an old saying by the health and safety folks in the US: "Safety rules are written in blood" I know nothing of such measures in a nuke facility but it seems they could be firewalled from the rest of the web. Forcing a hacker to actually enter the facility would at least help.

You know, there should be no connection between the network that runs any nuclear facility and the world wide web. That should be, like, a no brainer but obviously some very stupid people built the network.
