Hartmut Posted July 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Well, with their unequalled wisdom, Americans voted TWICE for Bush. I would not put it beyond them to vote for "The Donald". Perhaps that thing on his head can become Vice President, or President of Vice ! :-)

toast Posted July 27, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Well, I`m always astonished what kind of criteria are discussed about a person who would know the ICBM codes later on if elected. I would say its a kind of Muppet Show for adults.

Perhaps that thing on his head can become Vice President, or President of Vice ! :-) They voted twice for Obama as well. Trump cannot win the office but he CAN ensure that a Democrat does. I'm not sure if his ego is THAT big but if it is I suspect he will be as hated as Obama is and that is saying a great deal.

Ashotep Posted July 27, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 27, 2015 At least he says something instead of talking around it. Have to give him credit for that. Maybe he isn't politically correct, which I like, but the subject of illegal immigrants wouldn't even have been talked about if it wasn't for him. The rest of them are afraid to say anything other than pathway to citizenship. We haven't had a decent choice for president in a long time that is why what we get is so bad. That is also why Donald is doing so well in the polls. Which I don't think he will be elected, well maybe. Better hope Hillary or Bush isn't elected either.

We will see if he continues his rise. I believe he will. Many say things will look different "in a few months". I agree, Trump will just have fewer competitors.
RavenHawk Posted July 27, 2015 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2015 I do like Trump but I’m not sure I would vote for him at this point. Trump is souring my taste for many of the other candidates. He’s weeding out the Rhinos from the field. But Trump as President would be able to manipulate the Progressives and the Rhinos in Congress to get Constitutional legislation passed and repeal just about everything Obama crammed down our throats. If not, he will shame them to no end and see if they get elected next cycle. I think he would get along with Putin very well. They’d end up being drinking buddies and that would go a long way of easing tensions. I’m sure he could broker a deal between Putin and Ukraine. He’d take no $-hit from Mexico or any Muslim nation. By standing up to them will end the days of extortion. He would have a deal with Iran that is real and works and have those Mullahs sweating for once. In short, this is what this nation needs to reclaim our rightful position.
Ashotep Posted July 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) Here's something interesting I came across. The 10 Biggest Media Lies About Donald Trump 7. Hispanics don't like Trump. A poll by One America News Network in Nevada found that Trump received 31.4 percent support among Hispanics, higher than the 27.7 percent he received overall. The only other candidate to receive double digit support from Hispanics was Scott Walker. with 11.4 percent. http://www.newsmax.c...7/25/id/658877/ Edited July 27, 2015 by Ashotep

Leo Krupe Posted July 27, 2015 #14 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Here's something interesting I came across. The 10 Biggest Media Lies About Donald Trump http://www.newsmax.c...7/25/id/658877/ Let's take item #1: 1. He is not a billionaire. Forbes magazine researchers have placed his worth at $4 billion, while Trump asserts that he is worth $10 billion. A disclosure document recently released by the Federal Election Commission lists 515 different positions and 168 assets and sources of income for Trump. The assets include 23 that are valued at more than $50 million each. Many items require that he check the box marked "$50 million or more" when they could be worth considerably more, meaning Trump's fortune may be higher than the disclosure suggests. Who said he's not a billionaire? Forbes estimates he's worth $4 billion. They say he's lying about his worth, exaggerating it. No one said he's not a billionaire. 2. Trump is not a successful businessman. Critics says he inherited a fortune from his family and has declared bankruptcy several times. But Trump's father had a net wealth estimated at between $250 million and $400 million at the time of his death, and he had four surviving children who were heirs, so Trump is responsible for accumulating the great bulk of his fortune. Trump has never personally declared bankruptcy. Some businesses he controlled or licensed his name have, but this is not unusual for a mogul who has owned hundreds of properties and businesses through the years. Define "successful". He started Trump Airlines, that folded, his bike race, Tour de Trump, lasted only a year or two, but he's been very successful at various ventures. So he's hardly a failure as a businessman. 3. He said all Mexicans were rapists. What he said while announcing his candidacy is that illegal immigrants from Mexico are "bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." Who accused him of saying all Mexicans are rapists? The quote is accurate, "and some, I assume, are good people." The article doesn't say who made the claim of "all Mexicans". 4. Trump said John McCain is not a war hero. The Washington Post reported that Trump said "McCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese." But Trump immediately modified his statement by saying, four times, that McCain is a war hero, including: "He is a war hero" and "he is a war hero because he was captured." Trump waffled. He said McCain wasn't a war hero, then flipped and said he was. Which is it? Trump also said he likes people who don't get captured. . Only 2,500 people showed up to hear Trump speak at the Phoenix Convention Center. Crowd estimates are unreliable at best, unless you have tickets sold, so this is really irrelevant. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus spoke at length with Trump and asked him to tone down his rhetoric. Trump said that in fact he spoke with Priebus for just 10 minutes and Priebus told him that Trump hit a "nerve, doing well." He said Priebus told him "you can't change your personality and I understand that." Trump said it "was a really nice call, a congratulatory call." This is taking Trump's word for it, which is probably an unwise thing to do. Nevertheless, as we don't have a record of the actual call, it's anyone's guess. Mine is that Trump is exaggerating. 7. That's something to be taken with a grain of salt. From the L.A. Times: Nationwide, nearly 80% of Latino voters consider Trump's comments offensive, according to a recent survey commissioned by Univision, the Spanish-language entertainment and news network. http://www.latimes.com/nation/politics/la-na-trump-latinos-20150723-story.html#page=1 From the Washington Post: In the most recent Post/ABC poll, 84 percent of Hispanics said they would "definitely" not vote for Trump. More from the Post about that Nevada poll: Regardless of who paid for the poll, the survey itself has some question marks. Gravis determined that Trump led Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker by 12.7 points, 27.7 to 15 in the Silver State. (More than a fifth of respondents said they were "unsure.") Among Hispanics, 31.4 percent chose Trump, versus 11.4 who chose Walker. First, note that the figure is Republican Hispanics, not all Hispanic voters. That's a critical caveat. To get those numbers, the company spoke to 623 Republicans. How many of those Republicans were Hispanic isn't clear; the smaller the number, the less accurate the breakdown. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/07/23/the-gigantic-grains-of-salt-that-accompany-donald-trumps-claim-that-hispanics-love-him/ From the Fiscal Times: In a hypothetical general election matchup, Clinton would clobber Trump among Hispanic voters, 70 percent to 16 percent, notwithstanding Trump’s inexplicable declaration that he would “win the Latino vote.” http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2015/07/17/Trump-Surges-Polls-Hispanic-Voters-Flock-Hillary-Clinton A political genius? I think not.
Michelle Posted July 27, 2015 #15 Share Posted July 27, 2015 I don't care if Trump is an agitator, with no intention of running, if it forces all of these other wishy washy polititians to take a stand. I'm sick of all of this double talk while saying absolutely anything or nothing.
KariW Posted July 27, 2015 #16 Share Posted July 27, 2015 Never watched his shows, but I am glad to see someone stirring things up, and basically telling off those who want him to fall into line. I'm going to reserve judgment on the man until I see him speak in a couple of debates, etc. I hope he does his homework.....on both public and private issues.
Occult1 Posted July 28, 2015 #17 Share Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) They voted twice for Obama as well. Trump cannot win the office but he CAN ensure that a Democrat does. I'm not sure if his ego is THAT big but if it is I suspect he will be as hated as Obama is and that is saying a great deal. If Obama got elected twice, then surely he must not be as 'hated' as you claim. Republicans don't like him but that's not a surprise. I think anyone elected as President is bound to have his/her share of proponents and detractors. One side may speak louder than the other. That's politics.
