Still Waters Posted August 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2015 The sky was illuminated last night by the first "Supermoon" of the year, the largest and brightest view of the Moon as it reached its closest point to the Earth, resulting in some stunning images of the phenomenon from stargazers. The year's biggest and brightest full moon has been gracing across the country since 7pm on Sunday - and will dazzle into the night as it reaches its peak at about 1am the following day. Eagle-eyed stargazer Zack Jones has captured a stunning photograph of the perigee moon surrounded by clouds while it hovered above Sydney.
