Still Waters Posted September 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 3, 2015 A great-grandfather was stung to death by a swarm of wasps after he accidentally disturbed a nest near his holiday home. Clive Southall's head was so consumed by the mass of attacking insects that his horrified relatives said they could "hardly see his face" as he rushed back to his caravan. http://www.telegraph...r-to-death.html
EllJay Posted September 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2015 Is there some, somewhat simple, and for most people available means, to disperse and ward off a storm of wasps/bees like that? Often it is peoples pets, mostly dogs, that poke around in the garden, or something, and get swarmed. Can you use a power washer on full blast, with the wide-spread on - or do you need at least a flamethrower to deal with them?? I know that if you are the one attacked, you can hardly manage to nothing more than swat and run, and jump in to a lake, or a pool, if its near. I was more thinking what a bystander can do. Is there some spray with an odour that the cant stand? Hairspray, or something? Any ideas?
