Still Waters Posted February 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2016 The mosquito - tiny, frail, eminently squishable, and yet capable of such destruction. In the wake of a rapidly expanding Zika virus epidemic, many have talked of declaring war on the insect responsible for transmitting many of the world's worst diseases. But what would happen to the environment if -poof- all the mosquitoes simply disappeared? GlitterRose Posted February 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) At best, they're a nuisance, and at worst, they're deadly. The problem is that with the bees disappearing, we don't need any more pollinators disappearing. Everything is a part of the ecosystem. It never seems to end well when we mess with the balance.
