Still Waters Posted April 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2016 SpaceX is set for another rocket launch and landing attempt next month following the historic landing of a Falcon 9 rocket at sea earlier this month. The company's next satellite launch is scheduled for May 3, a company representative told ABC News today. While SpaceX will once again try to land its Falcon 9 booster at sea after sending the payload into orbit, the particular rocket used in this launch won't be the one SpaceX landed on April 8. http://abcnews.go.co...ory?id=38652719
ROGER Posted April 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) They still need some thing to steady the top of the return first stage as soon as it touches the barge . Ruff seas are hard to predict . Edited April 27, 2016 by ROGER
crandles57 Posted April 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Launch is now 4 May. Apparently they weld it to the deck for the journey. Sounds like an autonomous robot welder would be useful. Empty fuel tanks and rocket engines at bottom; should be a lot more stable than it looks.
