What do you think of the Key of Solomon and Lesser key of Solomon(The Goetia)?
And were these books of magic really written by king solomon?
They say these books have power to unlock many secrets.
And invocations to summon the Geotic Demons.

I have a friend who does cerimonial magic and uses these books.
he says the power in them really works.

What do you think of these myserious books?
Are they really from King Solomon...?
Did he REALLY get the knowledge of controling
spirits from God? or was it the devil?

And why is Solomon in the bible but yet he wrote his own secret books... showing us how to summon and release demons... if he served god..?

I;ve been reading these books latly they are very interesting....

Let me know what you think of these books....
and if you have ever read them...

So you have come this far and still you understand nothing. Every light must fade, every heart return to darkness! Behold the endless abyss! Within it lies the heart of all worlds

Not if it's BS. Any well-known thing that had any credibility would have a fair few hits on Google. Not true IMO. At all.

-I think they include ceremonial magic rites that are old and have been attributed to king Solomon, but that's going back a long way to determine its factuality.

-No idea. My guess is not directly from his hand, but one never knows.

-He was supposed to have received this knowledge from angels, some of which we know fell out of grace with god. So angels/devils = impossible to differentiate in this way.

-He supposedly took this secret knowledge from demons/devils he bound to servitude (as implied in the Lesser Key, anyway). I cannot say that he was serving God in this act, but he was a servant of God. No man is perfect.

Shigeru Finally someone knows whats going on here!
Yeah that is exactly what i;ve heard about these books.
My friend is into cerimonial magic....
He has summoned some of the Geotic Demons...
but i wouldn't expect anyone here to understand
or believe that.. since they are so closed minded...

And the reason its not easy to find on Google
is because these are secret books...
but not anymore.. you can even buy them online
and in most Book Stores....

Google doesn;t have info on EVERYTHING...
and it can be found on google...

just because it;s not easy to find on google..
does not make it BS....its not well known
becuase its SECRET knowledge...but never mind...

Hi

The religion of Thelema is partly based on these books, they are written with many Kabbalah teachings, both books have very close links to Jewish mysticism.

I bought my copy of Key of Solomon the King at a local bookstore in Indiana. It was published by...umm...*goes to look* Sam Weiser, Inc. Somewhere in Maine.

I, for one, learned of these book swhen studying Kabbalah and the Golden Dawn.

Woah, woah.

Firstly, I do not doubt the existance of these books - otherwordly powers and summoning creatures from other planes.

Demons - or so they are called - are a force to be reckoned with.

You said your friend practices ritualistic magick. He must be extremely disciplined to summon a creature from another plane of existance - and he must be very strong.

If anyone attempts summoning, I SERIOUSLY suggest delving into the mystical world more thoroughly, since summoning is very difficult, and very dangerous.

I doubt these beings are "demons" since humans inherently have xenophobia if you will of anything they do not know of, they beleive is evil. Nonetheless, exercise extreme caution when trying to summon an otherworldly being. A proper circle must be cast by one sufficent in the containment of astral creatures (or whatever plane they are from.

I would like a discription of them, it would be very interesting.

I know much about the lesser and higher Key of Solomon/Goetia. The books are from early medieval times, it is NOT written by Solomon, but the sources from which everything is compiled are quite old. Solomon was indeed a warlock in old age(The star of David was actually Solomon's and it represented the cult of Baal), but because he became a pagan (yes-Solomon was an apostate. God forgave him though). The Golden Dawn and Aleister Crowley are a complete fraud, but many important men belonged to it (ie: Yeats). The main idea behind the devil summonings in the Key of Solomon is that the seal of the summoned entity can be used as a form of control. This belief stem's from the fact that God has never fully revealed his name, but rather has given several with distinct qualities. The story goes that Solomon managed to summon one demon through his knowledge, and that he kept asking for sigils before releasing them. This way he summoned all the principalities of the power of darkness. Most of the entities in the Goetia are ancient Sumerian/Babylonic pagan Gods reduced to demons. This isn't inconsistent with the ancient Hebrew belief (codified in law by Moses later on) that behind every idol lies a dark power. The key of Solomon is no big deal if you ask me- anybody over the age of 5 can set up those pentagrams, scribble the sigils, burn the incense and see for themselves that it's all fake. Just a nasty mishmash of paganism intermingled with medieval kabbalistic lore and legend.

I think the Goetia contains a breif description on each of the demons he summoned to help him build his temple. the book shows each of the demons symbols, and various conjurations. etc
there are five books that make up the key:

Goetia
Theurgia Goetia
Ars Paulina
Ars Almadel
Ars Notoria
