Grimoire's are very interesting books. Is the information in them true? Who knows?
They are books about magic basically, so I guess it depends on whether the person reading them believes that magic is real, or just an illusion.
Here's a brief listing of some Grimoire's, you'll notice that the Key of Solomon is one of the more recent, I think it owes it's popularity to Alistair Crowley, he seems to have had a hand in translating the English versions, but I could be wrong.
