Well you see they can change into a fish and back making them darned hard to catch with just a gunny sack. And as you know thats the true test of a Snipe hunter. Bag I'm on the run!

Ah, snipe hunting, such fond memories...

Basically used as a tool by young men to lure unsuspecting young ladies to a secluded spot in the woods or beach for a romantic evening where no actual snipes inhabited.
