now that all the furore has died down about faked lunar landings i would like to conduct a poll to check your opinions. I think some of them were fakes but some were real
the ones that were fakes were later when they realised that they could make
more money by selling a film than building a spacecraft. My mom and dad went
bananas over the lunar landings and bought tea-towels and mugs and even tee-shirts and that sort of stuff. we still have a full bottle of 60's bubble-bath in the shape of
a lunar lander. crikey, i mean we even had all that silver wallpaper and those awfull
slippers and pyjamas. we've still got most of the plates and that kind of thing but we can't bear to look at them ever since that buzz aldrin (i think it was buzz - could have been luke) said he never went there.

Wow!  When will this nonsense die?

The video we saw on earth traveled by radio waves farther than any video had traveled before.  With 1960s technology, it was amazing we could see anything at all.  The still pictures taken on film are crisp and sharp because the film was carried back to earth to be developed.  It wasn't sent by radio over vast distances like the video footage.

You mentioned technology.  Yes, it was primitive at the time.  Calculations were performed on a giant computer that was dumber than a modern digital wristwatch or on sliderules!  It was an amazing feat of skill, determination and courage.  Pretending it didn't happen insults the many people who accomplished this magnificent feat.
The universe is glorious beyond human comprehension.  Why add spirits and gods?  Just because we don't know how something happened doesn't mean that a god is needed to explain it.

Buzz Aldrin said he never went to the moon?  Where did you hear this?  Are you referring to Bart Sibrel's despicable attack on Aldrin?  Aldrin refused to swear on a Bible that he went to the moon as Sibrel idiotically demanded.  Of course Aldrin refused.  He refused to have anything to do with that moron Sibrel and had to punch out the jerk when he wouldn't leave Aldrin alone.  Unless you can give us a link to a reputable site showing that Aldrin says he never went to the moon, stop insulting that courageous hero!

See this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bart_Sibrel

And this:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/misc/sibrel.html

Sibrel is a LIAR.

Don't take anybody's word on important issues.  Check things out yourself.  Look at sites that mirror your general point of view and also look at sites you don't agree with.  Weigh the pros and cons and make up your own mind rather than letting somebody else tell you what to believe.  If you hear something that sounds difficult to believe, do LOTS of checking before you believe it.
I recommend this site for specific questions and for general advice on how to consider information:

I agree with Blizno, that Sibrel character was nothing more than a liar who just wanted a story.
I personally believe that the Americans did land on the moon all those years ago, but its just my opinion!

No offense, (well, actually....) but the hardware left on the moon by the Apollo astronauts is proof enough that they went there.
Consider this: How many hundreds, if not thousands, of people would NASA need to create a hoax on this scale?
And in considering this, how many people do you think would honestly keep quiet if there really was a conspiracy? Sure, you have the occasional nut-job who claims he was there and has "conclusive" proof, like how E.T. told him Man doesn't belong in space or something, but the actual people involved -- the intelligent ones -- would probably have let the proverbial cat out of the bag looong ago.

They have actually proven that they were there. 100%. You really need to keep up with current events.

I think it was real, but the evidence that they were fakes is strong. My dad's a biology teacher, and one of the Physics teachers he works with beleives they happened but admits the evidence of them being fakes sometimes makes him wonder.

ALL of the "evidence" against the moon landings is grossly misrepresented.

See here:
http://www.lunaranomalies.com/fake-moon.htm
and here:
http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

There are many, many sites explaining why all of the purported reasons for the "faking" fall flat with the slightest scrutiny.

I'd like to hear exactly why this physics teacher wonders.

Do you guys think we will go back to the moon any time soon?  It seems like we have a lot more technology to handle the situation better now, and yet, no lunar travels.  I'd like to spend money on a trip to the moon original.gif!!!!

Well I'm having a great time on apollohoax forum with lots of guys who believe we went to the moon. I'm presenting anomalous footage and stills and asking for their opinions. They are a smart bunch, many of whom are also with the badastronomy group, photo pros and engineers, etc. A couple of them sneak peeks at my moon topics here so they'll see this post too (Hi, phantom!) They are treating the info with serious respect, so I'm happy about that, and I in turn am respecting their pro-Apollo views. Check it out and you'll see what's been discussed to date.

I have no doubt that some of the pictures were faked, if for no other reason than to make them more PR friendly, however I am pretty skeptical when it comes to a mass conspiracy concerning the moon landing.

Meanwhile, we will have to wait for a commercial effort to go to the moon, as there is really no reason for the government to return to it at this time.

The way Russia and the USA was in a race to the moon if it was fake Russia would have screamed long and loud.
“Hither to Haides all shall come, hither the highest and the lowest class: evil it is, but it is a path that all must tread; all must assuage the three heads of the barking guard-dog Kerberos and embark on the grisly greybeard’s Charon’s boat that no one misses … But for you, may the ferryman convey to the place whither he gives passage to the shades of the righteous the body no longer tenanted by your soul.”
