Alright - enough is enough.

Agent Mulder you've been told by another moderator to knock it off; you've been given enough lee-way and informal warnings. Not every thread has to be de-railed into a debate thread about whether 'psychic phenomenon' exists.

If a thread states that it's for a particular reason, or if the original poster goes so far to say "In this thread; lets put aside the disbelief and assume that Astral Travel is a reality" that this particular thread doesn't serve the function of a debate topic.

Since you've been informally warned, I'm giving you a two weeks vacation in hope that you can reflect upon where it is appropriate to debate a topic, and where disbelief (or belief) should be checked at the door. (Hint: It's wise not to create a debate out of a long-with-standing topic such as this) :tu:

Now, let's continue the theme of this thread; Astral Projection Techniques.

Here are some techniques I found useful, don't know if theyve been suggested before.

I haven't been able to AP yet but the closest I've come involved this,

I was in bed with the TV on (muted), the lighting would quickly change from dark to bright and back again. With every flash I'd get closer, it was my mind responding to the on/off light, I told myself to simply go into it. If the light would've gotten progressively faster as the trance intensified I might have been able to project. A strobe light seems like it would be useful, I'm gonna try to get one soon. Your eyes will sync with the light and concentration comes easier

Another technique is set your alarm (phone works best for me, can keep right by ear) for however long you think you need to fall into the trance/focus. Tell yourself the alarm marks "go," and that you WILL project when it goes off. I've tried this a few times and I feel like I'm just on the brink of leaving when the alarm goes off. I just can't seem to make that last leap

Hey, there is a helpful great technique for astral projection:

keep awareness during your day life and keep aware of your thoughts and thinking....

try living in present time not in past or future time.

this will help you , trust me !

good luck :tu:

Just in case this was buried under the debate a few pages ago:

"I think I have been making progress since my last "this is what I experienced" post.

Now these strange feelings appear more frequently, much stronger, and often wheather or not I try to project.

They have been occuring even when I just want to sleep normally.

The thing I want to come to understand the most at this point is what I am feeling compared to what point of AP am I?

My first few attempts left me with only a heavy body, and I weak floating sensation. And then I stopped trying for a few months due to a lack of interest.
However, when I started again; I experienced much more than that.

I Get the floating sensation still, but it is much stronger, as well as this feeling of a rise in internal temperature. And while all of this happens, I see light while my eyelids are closed as if the room was getting brighter.

And I remember on 2 ocassions where I felt as if I were in two places at once (it was a very new feeling that I did not think my mind could even comprehend!).
One of the most memorable part of these experiences were the feeling my hands got if they were laid against my chest. It felt as if the air around my chest was electrified, I could feel this energy that felt like a weak electrocution through my fingers.

So with all of this...how close am I? I feel like i'm close enough to where I can almost accomplish my goal, but I want reassurance because I feel like i'm misinterpreting what is happening."

If anyone has an opinion or can evaluate what is happening, i'd love to hear.

I tried this method 4-5 years ago now, after seeing it in a copy of 'X-Factor magazie' (an old paranormal magazine, not a companion to the tv show!). The method there was the 4am one, with the added nuance of 'asking yourself if you are really awake at different points in the day'. This was supposed to achieve awareness-within-dreams, to achieve lucid dreams.

Since trying, I have developed chronic insomnia (and I don't say that in jest). I have developed the ability to take control in dreams at times, tell myself something is a dream, take it less seriously, but I've never been able to direct locations, leave my body, or anything like that. I guess you'd call it a mild success with a big downside.

Okay here i go.
Last night i was attempting this and how i done it was listening to gloomy music ( in this case it was HIM but i prefer sisters of mercy as they are actually gloomy) this helps put me in an almost hypnotic state i can't seem to fall asleep i just seem stay at a kinda of half way point i use this to my advantage in this case.
As i close my eyes i start feeling very relaxed, i started seeing white puulses i let my body follow these but in this case i was then distracted by my sudden erection.
okay after a couple more attemts i deside to go to sleep and me and a cople of friends are having another go tonight.
My on purpose experiances have all ended in the same way, my legs (in particular) and my arms start almost vibrating or buzzing and i feel like i want to lift them up. I also commonly jolt but this is usually when i'm not trying and on the edge of sleep.

There appears to have been a bit of riff-raff in my absence. I have nothing against those who withhold strongly skeptical beliefs - in this day and age, it's no wonder they exist - but those who feel the need to press their beliefs on others in a forceful and callous way which is not conducive to civilized debate are simply disrespectful, and shouldn't be dignified with a response.

It's good to see people are still posting their successes with AP in this thread - some of you appear to have advanced a great deal. I've recorded a notable experience or two which I may post here soon.
The world needs more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.
