I've heard theres no 13th floor inside the elevators, that when people build the elevators, they skip the 13th floor because of superstition or something.

true?

I got something pretty cool. I work on the 4th, 14th, 15th, 16th. My building has a 13th floor, but it is left vacant. I'll post pictures of the floor tommorrow, including a video clip of the walk thru of the floor. Spooky shi*!

But's that's only if you guys are even interested.

I use to think that way, but I'm no longer "stupid-stitious" w00t.gif

Do post that video clip, that would be interesting  w00t.gif

I think I heard somewhere, that it's not so common nowadays anymore, to leave the 13th floor out. It used to be, though.

And in Japan (maybe in China too, not sure?) it's with that number 4. I heard they don't even by plates and such in sets of 4 (as is pretty common in europe anyway) because it's bad luck, they use sets of 5.

From experience, I once stayed at 13th floor in a hotel with my boyfriend, and we had most pleasant stay, no freaky stuff or anything  wink2.gif (plus the view was amazing)

The character for "four" is read similar or the same as the one for "death"

I currently live in a building with no 13th floor.
My last building had no 13th floor.

So please people, don't just post something outright that is maybe true for you, but otherwise false. In alot of areas, mostly the States and Canada from what i've seen, it's a very common thing to not include a 13th floor.

I was in the hospital last month on the 13th floor. I'm sure for some it is a big deal, but it doesn't bother me too much.

If a building has 14 floors and no designated 13th floor, wouldn't there still be a 13th floor? unsure.gif

I am not an engineer, but I would think so.

But simple logic says yes. The floor that comes after the 12th is the 13th, right???

Technically yes. But I guess if you're superstitious enough calling it the 14th floor would make you feel better
