Stay with the citizenship you were born with. Each with their own story and country.
Be proud of your place of birth and stop envying the U.S., it's not all it's hailed to be.
We have the same troubles here as anywhere. Ups and Downs like all places. The grass isn't always greener over the fence.
Happiness & Sucess is a frame of mind, its a package deal. It all goes with you so becoming another nationality wont change your odds of happiness or sucess, its in you.
You make it happen wherever you are with whatever you have as resources. American Citizenship can't buy dreams. Jeez, is that enough euphanism's?? Iam done.

Please do NOT take this the wrong way, but reading through the demographics for Vanuatu, it doesn't seem all that great, but then again, I am in no place to say that because i don't live there, America is the 7th ranking in HDI, so it would be a pretty good life here. Like Padawan said, there are many enviornments to live in, socially and climate wise, if you like heat move to Florida, California, or the West America, if you like people and a variety of temperatures, move to New York City, it is one of the largest cities in the world.
But as Chunga said, we do have problems, but if I were, you, I would move, but I don't know what Vanuatu is like.
EDIT: Wait, are you saying you live in Vanuatu or America and your not a citezen yet?

America is 10th. Canada is 5th, and from 1994 until 2000 was 1st, before being overtaken by

Born and raised in Vanuatu, parents are american, I have a few years, but I can't imagine ever leaving here...should I claim American...whats the advantages...
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't children born to American parents automatically American regardless of the country of their birth?
My guess is you already have dual citizenship. If your parents do not know they should contact your local US Embassy.

Yea...I think I already qualify for dual citizenship...not sure exactly how that works, I was told I would have to choose when I turned 18..I'll have to check up on it...but as far as Vanuatu goes...most of the demographics/life expectancy looks bad because of the tribes that refuse medical treatment and what not. Its mostly a tourist place now, chain of islands in the south pacifc...its actually perfect as far as I can tell
I've never been to America, my parents don't want to go back, but I'm thinking of going to college there.

If you were my daughter I would advise you to keep your US citizenship. If there is a world wide financial crash or massive "correction", nations such as Vanuatu will be among the worse to suffer as nationalsim and a realization of betrayal grips many nations, assets of corporations are frozen and nationalized, and products not made within many nations are barred from being imported or are crushingly taxed.
The possibilities of this taking place within the next ten to twenty years are extremely high, due to weather, religious conflicts, lack of alternative energy development, poor water conservation and treatment, and stagnant to lowering standards of living for the masses of many industrial nations often with high tech militaries.
