I'm afraid not. In England we only have one kind - the big gray blanket kind that rains non-stop dontgetit.gif

Only in England could we have none stop rain and a drought. no.gif

In the original post the first 3 pictures are lenticular clouds. This is what the British Met Offic says about them:

Quote

The altocumulus of CM 4 often forms in patches in the shape of almonds or lenses and is then called altocumulus lenticularis. These formations are caused by wave motions in the atmosphere and are frequently seen in mountainous or hilly areas. They are often called wave clouds. They may be triggered off by hills only a few hundred metres high and may extend down wind for over 100 km. The cloud elements form at the windward edge of the cloud and are carried to the downwind edge where they evaporate.

Source:Met Office - Clouds

I've seen a lenticular cloud only once in my life. Two years ago I saw one from Dublin over, what I assume to be, the Wicklow Hills.

It does, they just aren't very common.

This site: John Mason's Geology Wales has some examples, Lenticular clouds, Wales and UK examples.

the mushroom clouds are super cells. those are usually very intense thunderstorms, often producing heavy rains, strong winds, hail, and some tornadoes. if you see a big mushroom cloud like one of those, it'd probably be a good idea to head for shelter unless you'd like to go to oz.  yes.gif

oh! and as a quick thought, here are a couple of cloud pictures that i've taken... nothing unusual, just kind of neat...

Wow...Those are so awesome! But of course they aren't authentic unless you have a specialist look at them. They look real to me, but I'm no specialist. Speaking of clouds, did anyone happen to see one the other night, like right after sunset? It was shaped kind of like a helix. It was all rainbow colors and it stayed there for a good 5 minutes. I got some pics and I'll try to post them for you guys. It was the craziest lookin' cloud i've ever seen.

This sounds like it may have been some kind of ice halo, tangent arc, or sun dog. These are caused by sunlight being refracted through high altitude ice crystals in a similar way to how rain drops cause rainbows. There are some nice pictures of these phenomena on the Atmospheric Optics, web site. Click on "ice halos".

Lovely pictures Kryso. Is it any wonder humankind has always looked to the skys when there is so much beauty to be found? This pic is one of my favourites, the relatively rare iridescent clouds

If I remember right, they are illuminated like that because of all the constant lightning strikes inside.
