This is for all you Pac fans!!! The limited amount on UM...> tongue.gif

Not only was he an music artist, actor & script writer, he was also an admired poet! Ya'll should really go buy the book: "The Rose That Grew From Concrete", by Tupac Shakur published by Pocket Books. But i'll hook you up.

There's a art center, along with a university class of dedicated to 2pac in which you can study his works.

I never had an opinion about Tupac (2pac?) before. I never listened to his music or cared much about him at all. But after seeing people defend him as some great philosopher so often, I thought I'd read his poetry here.

This is what I found...

His topics are sophmoric, his rhythm & meter clumsy at best, and his spelling atrocious.

Now I know. Thanks.

Kaknelson,

You cannot post his poems to this forum without the author's express permission (or his legal inheritors) there are issues with copyrights. Post a link to his poems, that is permitted. The website link for the cd has been removed since its to a store, you should know better by now. Lastly, the rude remark in your original post wasn't appreciated, you're going to have to expect that if you start a thread on this forum you're going to have to deal with contrary opinions. If you can't handle that decently, then don't start threads.

I thought he had astounding rhythm, but his spelling was atrocious at the best.

perhaps it works better with a back-beat or something. I tried to get some rhythm out of it while reading but he seemed to keep throwing in words that just did not fit.

Wow. One person agrees with you, one person (me) does not, in regard to Tupac's poetry skill. This is cause for you to give up? Please realize that everyone has different tastes and we won't all agree with you. I didn't post my negative opinion to be nasty, I was just sharing my views.

Sorry if you can't accept differing opinions.

Ps. And the Mod was not attacking you - merely stating that it is against the LAW to copy people's poetry out of books.

LOL!

Im tryin to chill.......................... i adore poetry ok.

And, its just it took me forever to write it out! I was using numbers like 2wice, and 2night to save time, and all ya'll regarded the spelling as bad! lol.

All of Pac's poems were political, or spiritual in some way. This i love.

It'd be easier for ya'll to understand if they didn't remove em!

Oh well... you can find his work on the internet if interested.

http://www.tupac4u.de/deutsch/poem.htm

Pac knew he was gonna go at the rate he was attacking the government, speaking of unfairness in the hoods, creating a cd and movement labeled "Killuminati"... "Kill" illuminati. He knew he was gonna die, and wanted to die for a principal... he was a genius in my eyes.

Very much so.

Atleast you notice the difference between the original conscious hiphop, and the mainstream mockary. Realisitcally it is all the same struggle, being that hiphop/rap comes from Jamaican Reggae. The voice of the streets....

Hiphop needs another real political emcee.

Guess who would be the one to suffer because of your iindiscretion? Certainly not you, but Saruman would. Depending on how anal the legal team protecting Tupac's artistic rights are, he could be made to pay a hefty fine or even have the forum shut down. Wouldn't that make you happy? hmm.gif

Again, if you want people to experience his 'poetry', post links to sites that display examples. You mention a poem titled "Liberty Needs Glasses", guess what, Google comes up with over 500 hits for that particular poem..........here's one site;

HERE

Sure is alot quicker than typing the whole thing out by hand, and you don't subject this site to any copyright hassels. thumbsup.gif

Saruman is my boy... this was not my intention.

My intention was to enlighten those on Tupac Shakur, and is poetry. Tis my bad on the post, and the copyright laws. I adore Tupac's work happy.gif , sorry for my outburst but it was how i felt.

original.gif My intentions were to enlighten, i love all as a poem.
