Anyone with 5.1 surround picked up the Lion King on DVD yet? My wife did, and it has two 5.1 tracks. It has regular 5.1 and Disney Enhanced 5.1. All I can really say about the more detailed Disney version is...... Holy Crap! It is worth picking up for the audio alone.

I'm not good with explanations, but I hope more companies do their audio like this DVD.

What are some of you guy's favorite DVD's in your collection? I like Independence Day, Starship Troopers, and of course both Lord of the Rings. Little dissapointed with the Star Wars prequels.

Jurassic Park, Independence Day, and Twister are great dvds to watch if you have a surround sound system.

I am actually picking up the Lion King today!

"Ballad of Serenity"
Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I dont care, I'm still free
You cant take the sky from me...
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

In responce to pious agsustus's post, there will be a lion king 3 but it will be 3D animated.

Is adult entertainment killing our children, or is killing our children entertaining adults?

Oh yeah, I gotta add the Dark Crystal. I've loved that movie since I was a kid. Had to grab it when I saw it sitting on the shelf. I would like to see a sequel one day, with the puppets, no CGI.

Dark Crystal...geez....the only thing I remember about that were these big, vulture things...shuffling along...

What wasn't the thing with the Ewoks, was it? huh.gif

lol, I know that Ewoks were origonally in return of the Jedi...but there was a spin off movie made that featured them too. I'm not sure if it was Dark Crystal or not...if it wasn't, then I saw them both at around the same time.

All I remember of the Ewok spin off was that they talking english...for...some reason...there was a little blonde human girl who was the main character...and that at one point she and a bunch of Ewoks were trying to climb this tower, and there was some monster in the moat that you only saw as bubbles rising from underneath the water huh.gif

AH YES! i seen that when i was a kiddy, made me cry i think, its called Star Wars Ewoks, it was a small tv series that didn't survive very long i think either that or a made for tv movie. Its about a kiddy wink who gets stranded on endor and has hairraising adventure with furry munchkins.

Star Wars Ewoks

i remember that movie with the curly haired blonde girl...

btw those vultures in the Dark Crystal made the most annoying noises!!

and yes Blood Angel, the Evil Dead Trilogy rules!(Which part do you like best?)
Signs is great as well. Lately I've been watching a lot of Tim Burton...(Sleepy Hollow and The Nightmare Before Christmas are my faves)

lately i've been replacing my Disney videos with the DVDs, and that has been a task, since it seems i need a seperate place to put them in, since there are so many( and a lot still havent been put out on dvd yet)...

I agree, but the first one was the best.
