Trying to keep an open mind about this. At least with them both being found in the same area, they can be related not only species but a good chance of being immediate family.

There is no mystery or cryprozoology at work here. It's simply a fossilized Australopithecus afarensis. 
Many of us only wish to discuss the possibilities.
