Universal Absurdity Posted October 16, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2006 This image is of a nebula, its not an eye, although it does have the appearance of one, being in space or 'the heavens' is why it was labelled 'eye of god'. this does not belong in the spirituality board. *moved to correct section*

Shaftsbury Posted October 16, 2006 #16 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Finished color images are actually combinations of two or more black-and-white exposures to which color has been added during image processing. The colors in Hubble images, which are assigned for various reasons, aren't always what we'd see if we were able to visit the imaged objects in a spacecraft. We often use color as a tool, whether it is to enhance an object's detail or to visualize what ordinarily could never be seen by the human eye. http://hubblesite.org/gallery/behind_the_p...lor/index.shtml They really are beautiful pictures, unfortunately they are only an "artists interpretation".
