Human species 'may split in two'

i suggest naming the uglier, goblin-like under class as 'team walmart'. i'm amazed at the amount of obese people in that store and babbling pregnant teen girls shoving the most unhealthy food in their first childs mouth. now that will cause a genetic seperation, kids raised on un-nutritious crack-lite food and entertained by cheap chinese made imports.

the other class should prolly be called 'team dead-end' because i foresee those with the funds to escape the 'team walmart' fate will use genetic engineering to attain these pert breasts and large penises lol before the real long term effects are known, thus jeopardizing their genetic stability.

perhaps our hope rests with the chimpanzee, by then they should have discovered the wheel.

Evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry of the London School of Economics

I must be one of the dim witted goblin types, can someone please explain why a school of Economics would need an Evolutionary theorist?

he can have more than one profession... So long as he can back up his claims.

 Oh hey I'm not so dim after all, I think I figured out the connection.

He must be going to set up some night classes to teach the dimwitted ones how to manage their finances so they too can drive a fancy car a get a hot date. ;)

Isn't this theory based on selective breeding, where you'd choose the strongest bull and thr strongest cow and get them to mate (for example). It takes years to get right, that might be why its gonna take 10,000 years or so

The only problem with this man's assumption is that he operations on everything remaining stable and as it is now. Evolution does not take place unless there is a definate need for change, and a stable environment is not conducive for change.

I too find intellect more attractive then looks. Attractive women that are dimwitted tend to be bland and extremely spoiled. In my experiance they arent worth it.

Bring on the average looking nerdy chicks. :D

I have a solution for this evolutionary fiasco, but it will require everyone's participation....ready? Okay, on the count of 3....

1....2.....3!!

Grab the remote, unplug the PC, throw away the Cheetos, smash the X-Box, and send those rugrats OUTSIDE!!! :tu:

It's because we'd be more choosey about breeding partners, so for women to have a smooth-hairless body, glossy hair, large clear eyes and pert breasts, they would be more attractive to the opposite sex and so get chosen to be some guys breeding partner.

The women would have evolved to become sexier in other words.

Although I agree with that description of "sexy" for a woman, many other men are attracted to women that the first group of men would gag at the thought of.

Fascinating idea, but the concept doesn't take into account man engineering himself.

If allowed to go on, mankind would essentially become a man-god; looking like, and becoming whatever he chose, within the limits of his own biology.

It's another reason why the Gardener of this place won't allow this to continue. He will put a stop to it, and sooner rather than later. Once technology threatens the power of the Resurrection, it's game over baby.

I suppose we're going to be invaded by jealous Martians too, if Herbert was right about this?

I heard on tv guys might disappear.

And women will inherit the world? Ugh. What a depressing thought. A neat, tidy, organised world filled with nice-smelling pots of flowers and useless little trinkets that are never properly explained.

No way. As technology progresses we will be able to control those changes suggested. I believe things will be the same a 1000 years from now. We will just be better with more sophisticated toys, able to manipulate the reality around us. It's backwords thinking to suggest that such biological phenominons will be something where stuck with.

A society will emerge all right, but one that will be able to easily manipulate and change those phenominons at will.

Not only that but our moods? such as love fear hate...Ha! even those will be controlled with a pill or some other kind of control. The only thing a thousand years from now that will control us is progress.

So i believe that if these changes occure it would have to be because we somehow wanted them that way for a reason.

...I do agree however that women will eventually control the Earth...Thats just something i believe will happen.

Mkay, first off, I think this is just insanity. How in the heck are we supposed to know whats going to be around thousands, tens of thousands of years from now? We'll all be dead! There is no way to know what we will be like so far away in the future. Yes, technolagy(sp?) will become more advanced, we might change a little, but not to these extremes. And HG Wells was a sci-fi Fiction writer. So...How could that be true if it comes from some sci-fi book?

That picture at the top looks like an alien, not a human being. Even if we do become more choosy, doesn't mean will look like that freakish thing!

Moral to all this: Don't belive sci-fi books.

Mkay, little rant over, I shall now return to reading wolf books. I bid you adiue.

Scientist look at thing like DNA and invierment. Also people that are narrow minded and only have kid in there own "race" will teach their kid to only breed in their "race". Over time open mind people like me that don't care about "race" will breed with other "races" making are ginpool larger. At the same time narrow minded people will try to keep it in their "race" so their ginpool will grow smaller and one day inerbreed, wichets will make barthdefack. Making them inferior. The kids of the people that breed with other "races" will tack the good thing form tho "races" and get reed of the bad. thats how (in a nut shall) it will happen.

I saw this in the newspaper yesterday.

100,000 years. Mark it in our calendar, folks. If we are still the same, does this make the evolutionary theory bunk? Oh the creationists 100,000 years from now might have a field day, haha. Then the evolutionist would say that someone just misinterpreted the facts. Then the creationist would say "well we predicted the end of the world would occur on *insert most recent apocalypse-prediction date* well, we just misinterpreted the facts also".

Then the arguments on unexplained-mysteries.com, which has by this time in history explained all the mysteries except the Walmart Initiative and the "disappearing sock" syndrome, will turn back to the vile bickering that always happens here.

I doubt what this guy is saying is going to happen; with all the interbreeding and the different dominait traits being thrown around in the entire genepool we will most likely all be infected with maddness traits. naw....

However wouldn't we be hangin' out in outerspace by then? I bet by then we would at least terraformed Mars. Or maybe a moon of Jupitar or something...

 Dear Alien Embryo. Yeah, I am skeptical too, when it comes to speculations about future evolution. We are already 5000 years past due for the start of the next Ice Age. I believe that the most useful trait of human beings is adaptability, and it seems likely that survival of the next glacial period would once again make that the criterion of survival.

:w00t: Interplanetary space travel by humans is probably impossible. Unmanned probes can get to Mars, but humans cannot survive 3 years of weightlessness, much less 3 years of cosmic rays. We survived the Apollo program because it only takes a few days to get to the Moon and a few days back.

user posted image. The logical outcome would be two sub-species, "gracile" and "robust" humans similar to the Eloi and Morlocks foretold by HG Wells in his 1895 novel The Time Machine.

Okay so I remember watching the movie based on this book, once. Does anyone have any idea where I can find it, online?

I definately agree that the human species may split off... and for the reasons laid out here. I really don't forsee it happening as soon as they say... I rather expect we'll wipe ourselves out before any of this process really begins to display results.

We are becoming aliens ourselves :w00t:

One idea for aliens is that it is us coming back to study our old salf.
