  • Are you looking for secrets? Is that it? Maybe I can give you one. Do you want to know what the ultimate secret is?

I like the music. I wonder if there is a mountain behind the darkness where people may be flashing powerful lights from.

The lights look and behave exactly like military parachute flares.  They 'blink' into existence after deployment, appear to hover then 'disappear' as the flare charge burns out after 3-5 minutes.  Normally deployed far nearer the ground to illuminate battlefields etc.

I would guess a couple of prankster loaded some into a light aircraft, dropped them out over the city and then sat back to watch the evening news for reports of UFO's!  Notice how the 'mysterious' light come on incrementally in a nice arc consistent with a plane's flight path.

Sorry to anyone that thinks these are little men from outer space!

If they were aircraft... radar would have picked them up.

If they were pushed out of a plane.. they would have fallen to the ground, and people would have reported that.  These look like they are neither falling, nor flying like airplanes... more like hoovering like copter. (which would have made a loud enough noise with that many.. yet I'm guessing since no one mentioned noise...)

Parachute flares are design to descend as slowly as possible - that's the whole idea of them.   So to say they 'hover' is exactly normal.  It's not inconceivable that the warm air rising from Arizona actually caused the chutes to gain altitude - especially as the mass of the chemical flare burnt off.

From my experience with them, you'd be lucky to find any chutes.  They're so light you'd better off looking miles away from where you actually saw them; especially if there's any wind at all.

Even so... the claim of planes dropping them is still countered with the fact that no one reported any sounds of normal aircrafts.  So unless these "pranksters" were thrilling dare devils and used light planes...  or gliders.

Either way... they're UFOs.  Which is not to say OMGS ALIENS!  but to say "dunno what they are." which is what UFOs mean. UNIDENTIFIED flying objects.  Can't ID them.. but you can make all the speculations in the world... unless you have solid evidence on what they actually are (as in, know these "pranksters" personaly and eventually the chutes and lights are found...) they are still UFOs.

Wouldn't that be something!  laugh.gif  But my guess is, if there is a mountain to climb and flash bright lights, it would have been revealed by now. The many curious, possibly along with local authorities would have checked this out already.

wow, I remember that, I didn't watch the video but I think that sighting occurred in 1997 and they are not flares. no.gif

Of course they're not flares. Anyone saying so hasn't delved into the subject quite deep enough.
