Here's one that's just happened...

I'd read Robert Harris' book Pompeii a few years back and found it excellent. Friday I saw it in a shop and went as far as almost buying it, changing my mind and getting something more useful (after all, I'd already read it lol) Literally 2 minutes ago I was browsing Yahoo News and came across this: http://uk.news.yahoo...mpeii-film.html

Polanski to direct "Pompeii" film
Sunday February 4, 02:04 PM

LONDON (Reuters) - Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski is to film best-selling British author Robert Harris' novel "Pompeii".

"Roman said he liked the book, we met in Paris and the deal was done," Harris told the Sunday Times. "It happened very quickly. I'm back in Paris this week to start sketching it out and the filming will start in the summer."

Bebi,

Take a look at the recent IM I sent you on your site in regard to the author's and filmmaker's names. One of the pivotal figures in my discovery should pop to mind. I wish I could reveal it here, but the man involved is searchable on the web and I'm hesitant to provide too much third party personal information.

I just had one kinda happen just then I think. Like I was thinking last week about the superbowl.. I dont know what made me think about an American sport but I did... like it just kinda popped into my head. Anyway I thought and hoped that it would rain during it. And as I was watching the news tonight it seems it did? And the first time for ages yeah? Which really spun me out because I dont even know when the superbowl is.. lol. So it was a coincidence to see it on the news tonight and that it had rained, considering I kinda hoped for it last week.

Hiya Anvil, do you have any examples to share?

Just with little things really original.gif And I've noticed it only becomes apparant afterwards when looking back at past events or choices and I see how they linked to bring me from point A to point B. One example from the top of my head is when I got my dog. I had my heart set on getting a mini snaucher, we looked everywhere for ages, there just weren't any pups. Then one day I was out on a walk and came across these little long legged fox/rat looking terriers, I was so taken by them and got chatting to their owner. I asked what kind they were and she told me they were Parson terriers. I had never heard of the breed parson before and she spent sometime talking about there characters etc and being a doggy person, I asked her if she knew of any snauchers, which she didn't.

Later that day i was skimming thru the dog adverts in the paper as I had been doing for about 8 weeks straight, the first advert my eye caught was 'Parson Terrier pups' !! I decided there and then to go and see them! on arrival the guy let the pups out into his yard with the mother, I'm a believer in letting dogs pick you original.gif once the pups had started to calm down a little, this one wee boy pup kept on coming back to me pouncing and bouncing, I fell in love with him on the spot and knew he was going to be my dog. And he is grin2.gif and he's one fantastic little dog thumbsup.gif

That's such a sweet story grin2.gif Does the word "Parson" have anything to do with your life at all? It just seems to jump out at me...

I find too that these co-incidences only make themselves obvious in hindsight. Although while standing in the shop with the book in my previous post I knew there was a reason I'd picked it up but couldn't think of any just then. That's about my limit of being able to judge what's important and what isn't, I know it's significant but I never know why until later.

That was a touching story, Anvil. I feel the same way about cats, and virtually every one I had abandoned a less favorable owner.

As for Parson, this isn't related to the dog breed at all. But, for years, I'd been singing "Winter Wonderland" with revised lyrics when Parson Brown is mentioned:

In the meadow we can build a snowman
And pretend that he is James Brown
[Sound of trumpets] Da! Da! Da! Da! Da!
[James Brown screech] WOwwww!

James Brown died on 12/25/06. Having revealed my secret shame of Christmas parody, this now qualifies as my most publicly humiliating synchronicity. grin2.gif

Oh my... I knew James Brown had died recently but never realised it was Christmas day. I'm sure some of you are aware of our spirit who visits, James (Barwick his last name was funnily enough). His birthday was Christmas day and one of my strongest memories of him is walking with some friends down a quiet street at 1am while James sang I Feel Good at the top of his voice. dontgetit.gif

Wow! We best return to posting this material on your personal site, lest your hit count diminish.

I've uncovered five people from my past with initials of J.K. who were good friends. One was in the jazz band I've been exploring of late, and he played tuba in high school as I did, and later the trombone, which was my brother's instrument of choice. I had a dream involving him around my first year of college where he was a second string soccer player (Football to everyone but Americans). The announcer called out his name erroneously, which I later saw engraved with those major errors on one of his bowling trophies. He was also on my team in a bowling league: band geeks all the way.

Two other J.K. dudes were brothers from the mean streets of Stockton, CA. The eldest discovered early on that I could impersonate him perfectly, and was constantly requesting flattery following his contributions to social awareness on vital topics such as ill-fitting underwear. Naturally, I embellished obscenely to make everyone, including him, laugh. Apparently, there were dances specific to the Crips and Bloods in the late 80s and early 90s. I learned quickly from the wise elder, J.K., and added my own Dance Fever elements to mock the modern day Hatfield and McCoy style rivalry.

I feel good! Hah! original.gif

Hehe I don't mind happy.gif I've linked to this thread on my site also, the cross traffic would probably be good for both sites.

I was reading through the Financial thread http://www.unexplain...showtopic=86285 , the postman arrived halfway through so I went to get the post. Included with our gas bill is the opportunity to join their Bond prize draw facility, I glanced at my screen to see Celumnaz's post asking about bonds versus savings huh.gif

When I lived in England I wanted to get a male black lab puppy but I had to wait until we moved. We went to look at a house and the doormat said 'welcome' and featured a picture of a black labrador. We took that house.

I called a breeder about a male puppy but he figured they would all be gone by the time frame that we wanted him. Anyway long story short. Only female black labs were available for the longest time. The very day that I was ready to go and get a puppy the original breeder that I called let me know that there was one male left and that turned out to be my Sagan.

wub.gif Almost 6 years old now and we brought him clear across the Atlantic ocean:

When I was about 14 we went on a vacation in florida. Me and my cousin Jef decided to walk the strip to go to the amusement park and ride the coasters. As we were walking down the strip there sat a small UGLY HIDEOUS house to my left. It was painted stripes of dark colors, just tacky. Well, I looked at my cousin and said "That house is so ugly I wish it would burn down, so I wont have to look at it coming back." My cousin laughed it off, and agreed. '
On our way back that night we both forgot about the house and as we come up to the location of where the house sat there was fire department and sirens, and people standing all around. That house had burned literally to the ground. There was a smoking frame of wood left that used to be this house, and that was it!! I couldn't believe it!! Jef was taken back... looked at me if I were freak.... so anywayzz, I watch/ed what I say outloud from that point on, just in case it wasn't coincedence. --

I had a little one the other day.. On monday I met one of the other teachers of my son who I didnt really like. My son is just starting pre-school this year and when I picked him up this teacher got right into my face and basically just made me feel bad. She was kinda throwing her weight around in away and I'm quite shy in public, and I didnt like it because it drew attention to me. And the voice that she used when she told me she was his teacher for the year was more as if... So there!! It was just weird. Anyway I left there thinking how much of a bummer it was that she was going to be his teacher for the year and so I wished that she wouldnt be. All night I kept thinking about it and thinking how much of a pitty it was. Anyway on wednesday when I picked up my son from school, I got a note saying how they have to move some of the teachers around, and that they were sorry that this certain teacher had to move up to teach the year higher. To which I just thought... that was quick! happy.gif Thanks!

I know what you mean lol when I was with my ex a friend followed us to our house one night. We got to ours and no sign of the friend, to which I said "maybe he's driven into a ditch" messing around. Half hour later he turned up, after getting his car out of the ditch... happy.gif
