I saw something on television about them, and they were supposedly little faeries that grew on trees, and when they died, their bodies dried out. Or something like that. Buddah was supposed to have seen them I think.

Kill yourself. All the cool kids are doing it.
Ever wonder if illiterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup?

its seems they are a rare type of herb that have roots shaped just like human bodies. they are supposed to grow in thailand, and the picture dee posted is of a naree pons root that is kept in a temple half an hour north of bangkok, as a religious item. there are several in the temple, and one of them is complete with a golden-ish leaf, several with tendrils. all the specimens are covered with a thin golden-ish fuzz.
they are also know as narew pons.

it seems naree pons differ from mandrakes in that mandrakes supposedly live in ethiopia.

I would like to know why the scientific results of the study done on the Naree Pons kept in a Thailand temple are not made public. I looked around a lot, and found nothing. Those "entities" do not look like a natural formation of any kind of vegetation. What gives with this? I`d really appreciate it if anyone has any info on this.

BTW, the Naree Pons are involved in a legend about Buddha. He was meditating during the day under a tree and these "maidens" would spring forth out of the branches to try and entice Buddha away from his transcendental state with their charms. When night fell, the Naree Pons would curl back up into the tree and blend in with the vegetation. Given the physical evidence, it seems like the legend is based on real events.

Yeah, these things are supposedly seed pods from a plant. Art Bell had them on his site a few months ago. I didn't hear anything about there being human DNA in them though... would be nice if they made DNA testing kits just like they make pregnancy tests, but that would open a whole big nasty can of angry worms...
