Was I the only one that thinks that the reporters come of as rather cheeky in regards to the idea of ufo's?
I am open to the idea of ufo's existing; however most of the dots of light that I see either look like venus or jupiter or some type of aircraft lighting configuration. The Phoenix lights look exactly like flares from an aircraft, and I never thought that they were anything but that. The brief clips that I saw of the lights in this story don't look like much of anything.
There are so many people that know absolutely nothing about astronomy and look up by chance and see something different than usual and think they have seen alien aircraft, when it was actually venus or something else. On the other hand there are many people used to looking at the sky like pilots that have seen things they can't explain, which to me lends a heck of a lot more credibility... I cringe when the news interviews a crackpot with a flashlight trying to signal venus to beam her up, but there are a lot of people that are like that unfortunately...
Videos of dots of light don't do much for me and unless they do something that rules them out as stars, airplane lights, or planets (fast maneuvering works), I don't pay much attention to them.
Too many people on both sides of the spectrum have fallen into this mentality that a full one half of the country are the enemy for having different beliefs...in a country based on freedom of expression. It is this infighting that allows the focus to be taken away from "we the people" being able to watch, and have control over government corruption and ineptitude that is running rampant in our leadership.
People should be working towards fixing problems, not creating them.
