user posted image rShe sipped pickle juice, held her breath, breathed into a bag, even went to a neurologist, but for more than five weeks nothing would stop a 15-year-old girl's rapid hiccups — until they finally just stopped on their own.

After trying countless remedies and attracting national media attention, Jennifer Mee said her hiccups suddenly stopped around 5 p.m. Wednesday. No one is certain why.

I saw her giving an interview a couple weeks ago. She couldn't mutter two words without hiccuping. Thank goodness they're gone.

I heard about this girl. Then somehow it drew national attention. I felt so sorry for her. I can't stand a second of my hiccups. >.< I'm just glad they're gone for her. :3 She said the first thing she wants to do. Is go back to school.

I hate liars. This is just some teenage girl looking for her 15 minutes of fame. And please.... 50 burps a minute.

If I were her, I'd be absolutely terrified of ever getting hiccups again.

It's kind of hard to fake hiccups. If you would have seen her giving an interview I think 50 hiccups in a minute would not sound as farfetched.

did she suffer any stomach injury beforehand? that could have caused some sort of diaphram spasms resulting in the hiccups.

Yes, she tricked an infectious disease specialist, a neurologist, a chiropractor, a hypnotist and an acupuncturist.

Reminds me of a Simpsons episode where Homer was watching the TV showing Kent Brockman interviewing a man how had the hiccups for five (?) years. The poor guy's reply was *Hiccup!* Kill me. *Hiccup!* Kill me.

But seriously, I didn't think it was humanly possible to hiccup for 5 weeks long.

I believe there are documented cases of hiccups lasting for many decades.

Wow, that's just crazy. I would have died of exhaustion before lasting decades hiccuping.
