recently remembered an experience with a banshee or a ghost- not sure what- was falling asleep and was awoken or pulled into a sort of trance state listening to this woman's voice sounded like she was shushing, repeated three short phrases- sounded like a song sort of, some whispering phrases and also long moaning- like the wind but her voice- which was also paralyzing...
i was looking on some sites and thought i found them, this sounds the most like what i heard "teer nan og" but drawn out. Tir Nan- The Land of .....Heaven. or the living or something.
this is similar to "tir nan og" which means the land of promise in folklore... but the Tir Nan, is very very similar.. im pretty sure this is what i heard.
never knew the words before...looked for words it might be and never found one that seemed right. found one first in a book which sounded similar. never had this happen again.

Did the voice keep repeating it over and over again or was it just once or twice?

Just being curious, because I awoke one night, but I had sleep paralysis and I could hear this sort of chanting, they seemed to be speaking some sort of language I didn't know, to be honest I can't even remember it. It sounded sort of similar to your experience in a way.

no. just once or twice. it was pretty brief. it wasnt really sleep paralysis but the voice was chilling. i was falling asleep and it woke me up. a friend of mine had woken up too and we both were scared.
definately wasnt her though. kind of neat, just surprising to find a word that sounded similar, i wont say it was the exact word though because i may be wrong...was different then a dream.

Yo Goth,
those phrases remind me of a Sci Fi series I read years ago callled "Nine Princes of Amber" by Roger Zalazny, the focus of the plot as I (struggle) to recalll was centered around a family of dimension shifting royalty, I remember a castle that was suspended between dimensions was called something like Tir Nag-ath (close)....this casle, might I add, was sort of suspended in the sky...I wanna think the cover art of the time (80s) may have featured this castle.....B
