GRAND RAPIDS -- High-tech gear and audio dexterity are twin rudders steering Derek Baars' future into winning souls.

Born without eyes, the 26-year-old British Columbia native credits a Bible verse for guiding his decision to one day serve as a minister in the Free Reformed denomination.

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God," says the King James Version of Romans 10:17.
