  • 2008 - Year of the MoG

Posted 16 December 2003 - 01:22 PM

I went shopping for a few extra Crimbo pressies for my son, and came across some fantastic kids tv shows re-mastered on DVD.

I just had to get them as they are not shown on TV anymore and I haven't seen them on satalite either.

1. Charlton and the Wheelies.
2. The flumps
3. Camberwick green (the one with Windy Miller)
4. Jamie and the Magic Torch.

Do you remember them.

Any other nominations??

I don't remember twit twoo, the only thing I know that can multiply into thousands are the Gremlins...

The Moomins, where they the ones that lived on the moon, but never spoke, and were chased by a dragon? I may be a bit confused, my childhood days were a long, long time ago.

Trap Door

Wonderful claymation, featuring general dogsbody Berk, a blue-monster thingy.
Whenever he opened the trap door, all sorts of stuff came out. grin2.gif

Oh how I miss being a kid ..... uppydown.gif

  • Sometimes we just need someone smaller.

We also had the Fraggle Rock show. In Switzerland (the french part), we use to watch Récré A2 (it was retransmission with all sorts of cartoon) then it became Club Dorothé (she was the one who host the show) and Les Babibouchettes. I was fan of Les mystérieuses cités d'or, Belle et Sébatien, Les Fraggle Rock, Toffsy, les Barbapapa, Les mondes engloutis, Les chevaliers du zodiaque, Zora la rousse, Casimir, les Bisounours, Cat's Eyes, Capitaine Caverne, Bouba, Clémentine, Chapi-Chapo, Candy, Maya l'abeille, Capitaine Flam, Les Cosmos Cats, Cobra, Calimero, Goldorak, Les Maitres de l'univers, Scoubidou, Heidi (of Course), Jayce et les conquerants de la lumiere, Inspecteur Gadget, Lady Oscar, Ken le Survivant, le manège enchante...

I think it's a shame that now nearly all the cartoons come from Japan and that they are all violent.
L'imagination n'est pas le mensonge (Daniel Pennac, Messieurs les enfants).

Sometimes I feel like i'm invisible. there's allways somebody to walk on my feet and to tell me "Sorry, I didn't see you". It's not funny to be a small person. But I'm proud of myself.

Im from the US too, I remember a lot of the old kid shows too. Zoom, Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, and Mr Rodgers are all still on TV. (My 7yr old still watches PBS TV ) And theres Clifford the Big Red Dog, Callaiu, Cliffords Puppy Days,(new), Magic School bus, George Shrinks, 7 Little Monsters, Bearinstine Bears, Between the Lions, and Libertys Kids.

Have you ever seen Hamtaro??? Its not a violent cartoon at all. Its actually a VERY cute cartoon.

Heres Hamtaro, aint he cute?? wub.gif

Mr Dressup was and still is the best kids show.

(He was Canada's answer to Mr Rogers. We had Mr Rogers, too, but Mr Dressup was far better.)
Let's rock this joint!
