Probably she doesn't eat much and is very tiddy, therefore the ants had nothing to eat.
Every year our apartment gets a couple ants walking through, they find nothing to eat and dissappear. The messy neighbor with the ton of kids has ants all over the place.
I'm not even sure ants can hear. At least the same way we do, anyway.
I've lived in quite a few apartments before and I have to say it might not be food related. We've used bugs sprays to bug bombs and it seems they know how and when to jump from one apartment to the next. In another apartment complex, we never experienced any ants or bugs and so If you live near an ant colony and you don't know where it is, they will disrupt your lives whether you a neat freak or not.

Who knows?
I work with a guy and one morning I saw him furiously ripping off a piece of duct tape from a roll. Of course, I had to ask him what in the world he was doing... "Killing ants!" And he proceeded to lay the tape sticky-side down and "get" all of those ants (okay, maybe four) that were around his keyboard and on the desk. It was so funny because he'd see another one and grab his piece of tape to "get" it. Poor little guys - I bet he didn't even ask them nicely to leave before he stuck it to them.

Haha I've never thought of using duct tape? I'm sure they're smart enough to move around once they see a few of them getting stuck.
