About 50 a day. and not only these, but also inheritance notifications, some Nigerian trying to give me millions for helping him smuggle more millions out of his country, people that say they have amassed millions through the food for oil program and want me to help launder them...

Spam should be punishable with at least 10 years but no more than 99 years hard labor!

Tiggs
Give it a couple more years and I'm sure that Spammers will be reclassified as Terrorists.

Hopefully the prospect of being taken out by an airstrike might deter a few of them.
Ciraxis

Especially if they contain a Link, sometimes you can get unwanted downloads on your computer containing some virus or trojan. These people are pain in the butts angry.gif

I read a story in a magazine a few weeks back, whereby a bloke did reply to one of these emails against the advice of his wife. He proceeded to deal with the Nigerian privately and the final result was that he lost £157,000. The bloke ended up running away and it was only when his wife had to go through their company accounts that it was all discovered.

I too, find it difficult to think of people falling for these scams, some people do, however, end up being conned out of their life-savings. I have the view that if I haven't done the lottery how the hell could I win and with regards to some of the other scams, nothing is free and I could not for the life of me, understand why anyone would just want to give me £250,000 when they have never even met me lol.

Yes we get lots of emails from Nigerians, the emails always start off with something like "Dear Friend" - I wish they wouldn't do that, they are not my friends lol.

garbage , pure garbage. thieves. the best advice is if you don't know the sender or didn't ask for it so to speak , throw it away.

funny this came up this morning because I've just come from arguing again with my 91 year old grandmother that she did not win publishers clearing house ( again for the 100th time). she swears ' you have to call them. I won. I've been playing 10 years they owe me' I even printed off a list of their 'winners' and her name was of course not on it. she didn't believe it. she wants her 10 thousand dollar check . ( she's even accused me and my brother when he was alive of stealing a million dollar check) w00t.gif

it's crazy. but even in her sixties she was gullible. If she could drive to the casino she'd be addicted to slots. and that's exactly what it is , addiction. especially for older people.
