With a noisy fish tank, a movie on and my daughter talking on the phone, I could hear up to 18ghz. I will have to try it again...I'll unplug thos bloody fish for a while.

I could hear up to 15.8. not sure what that means, it told me but it was something about fooling old farts or something. it was about the 5th one down on the list... pretty neat find tho... its cool, I thought maybe that there really wasnt anything playing on the last few, but if you play any two of them at the same time, they play something you CAN hear, which is proof that there is SOMETHING playing original.gif

Well i suspect it was the fact that i always listened to my music as loud as it would go without getting distorted ! Also when i went to rock concerts i always seemed to end up right in front of those big loud amps, and i went to quite a few! When we would come out of the concerts i could never hear anything anyone was saying till mabey the next day! And even then my ears would still be ringing!

I'm a mosquito.

Odd too, last time I did one of these tests I didn't do very well.
MissMelsWell
I already know I'm practically deaf but I'm still holding out against hearing support.

Luckily my sister is a doctor of Audiology... if I decide i can't stand it anymore, she can get me the best fake ears on the market. She already does that for our pops... but he leaves his ears off all the time at home.... so he doesn't have to listen to his wife, 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters... poor guy is so badly outnumbered. haha.

You're in a mid life crisis. Your ears aren't what they once were and you have resorted to doing online hearing tests The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 12kHz

I thought sometimes I could hear the next one up (14 something), but I couldn't be sure. laugh.gif

Grrr another double posting, I am going off to make a post in "Ask about this Site" section.

Edited for double posting.

Hmm.... my cats hope that it is rather the mosquito.

But in the defense of this test, I have always been capable of hearing very high tones like TV vertical line transformers.

I could hear up to 17 but not after it.

Teen Mosquito repellent, huh? I'm 21, so if I have the ears of a teenager, I'm going to consider this a good thing, yes?
Rocket88
I could hear up to 14.9 khz, then there was a gap, then i could hear 18.8, 19.9, & 21.1.

What does that mean ? wacko.gif

I"m surprised i could hear anything after being in a small rehearsal room with our drummer ! grin2.gif

Odd I couldn't really hear the 18.8 kHz, I could hear the 19.9 kHz somewhat! But, I could hear the 21.1 kHz just fine.
IzzyGone
I could 'hear' to 17.7 but could 'feel' up to two after that... in my teeth or like a dull tooth ache. Sorry I know that sounds weird, but true. And... that 17.7 was only in the left ear. If I turn my head so that the right ear is pointed at the speakers, I can hear up to the one before 17.7.

Well guys, before you get really happy.... does the response of the speaker/headphone you have used reproduce the frequency you could not hear, and if not, does it cause a spurious frequency when a not reproducible frequency is fed into it? If that is the case your test results are not valid...

I use an AKG studio headphone that is pretty linear (~22 Hz - 24 Khz) within 3 dB.
IzzyGone
omg you speak greek. I so wish I understood all you guys and all you're knowledge.
I used my cheap computers speakers and turned my neck squishing my eyes into that 'listen' look...

The mosquito device was made for the likes of you. You are probably begging to make the noise stop!

The highest pitched ultrasonic mosquito ringtone that I can hear is 18.8kHz

One thin to consider is that not all speakers are capable of producing the frequency range, particularly lap tops.

Interesting....

went all they way to the one labled "D" which i believe was 18.8khz IIRC.

....and i can still hear it ringing......
shadowfrostt
I can hear the 19.9k Hz one, barely. But the 18.8k Hz one is clear as day, almost! *it's funny, I clicked to see what would happen if I picked the highest frequency as the one I could hear, and it's apparently blank grin2.gif
