Ive always loved this show. Colin Mochrie is my fav. I told my boyfriend the only thing I want for Christmas is a DVD collection of all "Whose line is it anyway" ( well that and the set of the original "Muppet show" DVD set. Did you know Alice Cooper was in a Muppet show episode?)

I concurr. It was... predictable ?
Actually, it was feeble.

Perhaps this is a cultrural thing ? Perhaps Americans enjoy a bunch of trite homosexual stereotype cliches ? Peronaly , I thought it was just embarresing ... and offensive to homosexuals.

Mind you.. most Americans don't like Monty Python.

wouldn't it be boring if we where all the same.

No... sorry... I'm trying hard.. but this was just garbage.

And this from the nation that brought us MASH, X-Files, 24, Star-treck TNG, and 'Naked Nympho's in Baked Beans' (that was a speciality channel, but it was worth the cost) ?

Richard Simmons is stuffed in the closet with squeaky toys and dog collars. Its funny in some way (although I didn't think it was so funny, I meant funny like ironic) because he has never admitted that he's gay.

Its like Clay Aiken going on a show and prancing around. Its just shocking to see someone out himself on a television show without ever saying a word.

It was more surprising which is why it comes across so funny.

I Am American, and at least I understand that different country's have different cultures, nobody is the same. At least I would not put your country down., Oh and by the way I think 'Monty Python' is brilliant.

"wouldn't it be boring if we where all the same" I agree completely.

My kids have been properly indoctrinated in the Python. They have the Dead Parrot routine and the Knights who say Ni down pat.

Oh and my 7 year old has been saying since he's been 4 "People, people, this is supposed to be a HAPPY occasion, lets not bicka and arrrrrgue over who killed who"

Anyway you gave us Mr. Bean and Benny Hill and Two Weddings and a Funeral so bragging rights ain't exactly yours yet.

And the Spice Girls.

They gave us the Spice Girls.

I've lived on both sides as well. and I too fell into watching East Enders. I never watched a soap in my life until living in England. You can't help it. It's like everyone stops to watch it. Like a national movement ( at least when I was there) I'm back home and don't watch any soaps. go figure.

But I think I like the Brit version of Whose Line better ( esp older ones.) I miss watching Only fools and horses as well as other shows I got hooked on.

The Office: An American Workplace has been on for a few seasons and has won a couple of Emmys if I'm not mistaken. I love it! It has become it's own show from the UK version and I loved that show to pieces.

They had a US Men Behaving Badly, but it stank and it tanked.

I really enjoy it. It started off a lot like the English version, but quickly became a show in it's own right. I think it's so good because Ricky Gervais is one of the producers.

There's little homages to the show, like the boss in the show, Michael Scott keeps a little Union Jack coffee mug on his desk and I think something else, I can't remember right now. The show is in re-runs and I've not been watching it lately. The new episodes air soon!

lol Men Behaving Badly lol . yes the American version stunk. I miss reruns of things like Harry Enfield and Chums. and all day yesterday after being on this board I couldn't get the character of Anne feeding the ducks ( throwing , well slamming , a loaf of unsliced bread whole into the water as well as a package of biscuits) from Little Britain out of my head ! lol.

Little Britain is hilarious, i always thought David Walliams to be gay, but apparently he's not and dates lots of women, he swam the English channel for charity last year, Matt Lucas must have had his Embarrassment gene removed, because who else with a body like his would dress up in skin tight plastic "The only gay in the village" did you get shooting stars over there with vick reeves & bob mortimer? matt Lucas started his TV carer dressed as a baby on their show.

Vicky Pollard is a teenage delinquent who lives in the town of Darkly Noone. Her incomprehensible rambling has exasperated, confused and generally annoyed everyone from her teacher, social worker and court barristers.

This is a girl who smokes in the swimming pool and has swapped her baby for a Westlife CD, when her social worker visits and can't believe what she has done, Vicky replies "yeah I know, they're rubbish".

Quotes from Vicky

"No but yeah but yeah but yeah no but yeah no but yeah... ...but no because I'm not even going on the pill... ...because Nadine reckons they stop you from getting pregnant."

"Oh... I can't believe you just said that"

"Don't give me evos!"
Drego
Wow I've never seen such a funny WLIIA? clip in my life. I bet Richard Simmons' dream just came true...

But since that is the topic of conversation anymore... My favorite british T.V. shows are:

Whose Line Is It Anyway
My Family
Monty Python
and anything from Edgar wright and Simon Pegg (Spaced, Asylum, etc.)
