I don't know if any of you are familar with the concept of the song "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance - But basically, the idea is that when you die, death comes to you in a way that is comforting for you. For the character in the story of the album, death comes for him as a parade because his most fond memory as a child is his late father taking into the city to see a parade.
If death did work like this, I was just wondering what sort of form you think it would take for you? I thought it would make an interesting topic.
I'm not sure about me - It's something I'll have to think about more carefully. But how do you guys think death would come for you?

I too, am not sure.
Interesting concept though. You know, I am sure I have heard this idea before somewhere, not from that song though

Is that idea only from that song do you know, or did they get it from somewhere else?

I'm not sure, it's quite possible they got it from somewhere else. It dosen't seem like an otherwise unheard of idea.

Hi
Interesting topic. Personally I just cannot bring myself to think about death. Just hope that when the day arrives, it's quick and relatively pain free. If only one could stay active and in good health in the later years, it would be great if the big day never arrived. Modern life is so interesting, with so much more to see and experience. Anyway peace and best wishes.

For myself probably Goddess Valkyrie. (not the Norse variety but a goddess named Valkyrie) Though not norse she is a choser of the slain. I'd also be very happy with Tiamat or one of her first born children. I have seen each of these before when I was deathly ill.

I think the way to think about death and what it will be is to simply forget it. You won't know what it is until it comes, and when it does, it'll be what it's suppose to be. Why dwell on it?
Think about life and what you'll do with it. That's the important part.

I merely wished to point out (for those who just can't ignore it) that the forbidden science of Psychical Research has accumulated excellent scientific discoveries about death, for those who are interested. In a lifetime of research, the late Prof. Ian Stevenson has found excellent evidence, of several different types, for reincarnation. Thus, the dogma of reduction is broken. The mind is not the brain, and is not composed of the same type of matter (I suggest that the mind is dark matter). Some NDEs (Near Death Experiences) have testable components. See Raymond Moody's
Life After Life.

YES REBEL I LOVE YOUR POST!!!!
I had to think about this one. Kinda weird kinda cool...Ummm I most definitely do not want to live to be too old. I don't want to be in an old person home. I don't want anyone to have to bath me or feed me or (Gawd forbid change my diapers). I would HAVE to die way before that. I'd want to die I guess in my 70's at the oldest. I would love my memory to be making love to the true love of my life and just after the peak of my hugest "O" EVER. Yep. Then I would die in peace.

Hmm... I think they would take me to the beach at night to sit, watch the stars and possibly talk about something before I walked with them into the water.(They wouldn't forcibly drown me or anything. I just really, really like water.) I don't know who it would be since my current obsessions always change. If they were to come now it would probably be this artist's rendition of one of my favorite cartoon characters.

You will be surprised at how quickly you will pass 40 and 50, and that won't seem old at all. You have to reach the 80s or 90s before you will really become unattractive. And some 90 year olds are not that bad looking.
