ok, you may think this is rather dark but i have been thinking about my funeral latly and realised that the song they play, if any, will be the song that represents you as a person and one that you want people to remember you by so i was just wondering what your's will be.

sorry for the happyness killer guys, sad.gif

mine will be either: don't fear the reaper or to be loved by papa roach.

I wouldn't care. Presumably, if it was my funeral then i would be dead so i wouldn't care what song was played.

It sounds weird but Ding Dong the Witch is dead and Celebrate good times. Seriously, i want to make people laugh and remember the happy not the sad

Am I the only one who feels pretentious when trying to think up a song for my own funeral?
Cradle of Fish
The laughing gnome, by David Bowie, on a constant loop throughout the whole service.

Mine would be 'Whiter Shade of Pale'
by Procol Harum

We skipped the light fandango
turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
as the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed

She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died

If music be the food of love
then laughter is its queen
and likewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
and attacked the ocean bed

Dead! by My Chemical Romance, or anything else by My Chemical Romance.
Maybe "don't worry, be happy!" I don't know.

"Welcome to Hell" by Ska-P
Kayla Overdramatic
I have a list.

Dead! by My Chemical Romance, just because it's an upbeat, happy song, and I don't want to squash the mood. Plus it seems pretty fitting to the situation. tongue.gif

Maybe "It's Hard To Say" by The Used and Into Oblivion and History by Funeral For A Friend, but I'm not certain of those yet.

But I definitely want played:

Welcome To The Black Parade by My Chemical Romance
Helena by My Chemical Romance
Disenchanted by My Chemical Romance
Hear You Me by Jimmy Eat World
Goodbye Tonight by Lostprophets

Lol, it's slighty morbid that I'm so organised.
Sleeping with Fishes

When I'm Gone

[Chorus]
And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back...

Alright, quick question for mentalman, why have you been thinking about you're funeral lately? huh.gif
Anyway, I would want this to be played: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yZCncGhIWHc&feature=related

Or...this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=AqebQ9oKJHA

Or, the other two I mentioned on page 1......

CaitSith
Until the End- Breaking Benjamin
m. Moe

Hybrid Moments- the Misfits
Last Caress- the Misfits (not really funeral appropiate, but who gives a damn)
Poison Heart- the Ramones
Worker's Song- Dropkick Murphys
The Night Pat Murphy Died- Great Big Sea (you'd have to hear it)

Good question. These two would be very worthy candidates for my funeral:

Dropkick Murphys - Fields of Athenry (the ballad version recorded as a tribute to Sgt. Andrew Farrar)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=GV_RW9KyRVM

Enya - May it Be
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hitAHKGqJZI

May it be, an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be, when darkness falls
Your heart will be true

The guy who sang that song Bobby McFerrin ended up shooting himself in the head.

'Don't worry be Dead' lol

Anywho the song I want at my funeral is definitely the theme from the Incredible Hulk TV show from the end when David Banner is hitch hiking up the highway.

Ghost It Notes
Taking a Ride with my Best Friend by DePeche Mode.
