you have to melt it in a pan, but don't burn it. don't put the heat high just in the middle. soon as it all melts and is hot stop and that should be good. that's just my understanding of it. my girlfriend is mexican and her family shows me how to do all this stuff but i'm all a.d.d and can't pay attention so i might be telling you wrong but try it.

I like to get the tostitos queso cheese in the jar, warm it in the mic. Then pour it on and add a little bit of shredded cheese on top.

Now I want nachos.

You sir will be either frightfully disapointed or swept off your feet..just make sure the onion rings aren't too greasy...it will really hurt the cheese...

I'd like to know myself. I tried it for my son's birthday using Velveeta Cheese, the nacho kind. I melted it in a crock pot so it doesn't burn it but melt it and it didn't work well for me
it wasn't thin enough and then it hardened on the chips. It seemed a waste of time to prepare and clean up.

Bring a thermose or something to 7-11, and just fill it with the cheese from those machines. You know, the ones that give "free" cheese for those overpriced packages of tortilla chips.....

Ok heres how I make mine
Spread the chips out evenly on a plate ( not to many )
hamburger, chicken, or steak
queso cheese, or nacho and a tiny bit of shredded
diced tomatoes
green onion
a few black olives
simple and delish.

solid cheese never works cause it cools quickly and gets solid again.

no check this out everybody, this is the best stuff ever i swear.
get a bunch of tortella chips put them on a plate
make some ground beef mixed with taco seasoning and put them on the chips, a bit of hot sauce is optional
next make a can of re fried beans, put them on the beef
next some mexican or spanish rice goes on that
then you got your lettace, sprickle that on top of it all
then goes the cheese, nacho or mexican style, a little bit more hot sauce is optional
then slap some sour cream on top of all that
i promise on all my cats lifes it's the best thing you'll ever eat in your life
now i have a massive craving for something i don't have, DAMMIT!

O snap.... I forgot the refried beans, it's been a while since I made nachos.
Some times I use sour cream too, but only very little cant stand to much of the stuff.

Not sure, only ever used refried but if you could cook them so long you could mush them into a paste that might work. If your talking about using the whole bean that could work too. You can experiment and customize the nachos to suit your taste.
My experiments usually end up in the trash.
