Sporkling
Someone just told me that a weather report said that a tornado is coming. I would like to ask, if someone lived in an apartment, what is the best way to protect from it.

Well, if you got a bathroom and (squat down cover your head in a bathtub), closet or a small room and live in a apartment those places is ok to go into or just go into the hallway and take a pillow or wear a helment for head protection. But if you are watching the weather and they show you you area and you know you have time you can also go to the apartment's public basement to hide out from a tornado. Any place without windows.

A good idea...also a very bad idea! What you need to do is go to the lowest level of the building(preferrably a basement if the building has one) THEN hide in a more secure area like a bath tub and put a mattress on top of you. You dont want to be above ground, especially in an apartment building with more than 2 levels. That's my opinion anyways.

Yeah. What Doggirl has told you. Also you may want to take a blanket with you! Because it'll protect you from falling debris.

Please be safe!!

the best solution is to move out of tornado alley
Doggirl3
You can get tornado anywhere not just in tornado alley.

I'd say getting off the Internet is a good first step.

I agree, but again she probably using a internet mobile so she had time to ask probably. Oh the next time you have a storm sporkling, make sure you unplug the phone lines, computers, & toasters b/c they can be struck by lightening. Also it a good idea also to get into a weather group to keep up with the weather safety rules so it will be a drill over & over to you by weather people. Weather talk & George Peach & Weather warn in yahoo are three of best the groups for that.
