In light of the new forum, entitled Chess Tournament 2005, I would just like to hear any views or opinions anyone holds on it, for instance if you believe the website/members would benefit from more tournaments for different genres of games, or if you think the tournament overshadows the authentic topics and forums on actual unexplained mysteries etc; talking about which is ideally the point of this website.

I personally feel this new addition will give a positive boost to the website, by making the forum environment that slight bit more sociable and friendly. But hey, that's just me...

I think it's great. I love chess, and i've signed up.
And if you don't like it, then don't participate, so i don't see how it could negatively affect anyone.

I'd also be quite interested to hear everyone's opinions of the tournament.

God, I used to love chess. I was a member of my School's chessclub, but that was oh... 5 years ago. I'd probably be terrible nowadays.

I used to play it many many moons ago, i wouldn't have a clue now, but i say go for it, i think it's a brill idea, well done...

It looks like a fantastic thing to do. Although the only time I have ever played chess was on the computer and I continually got destroyed by my opponents! lol!

This is ALOT of fun.
So far i've been in 3 practice runs, and i've lost one of them, looks like soon to be 2 of them.
Been far to long since i played.

Join in anyway aztec.......it's only a bit of fun and no one is taking it too seriously (I hope)

I think the tournament is a great idea.
If I'm not in here then I'm playing chess at gameknot.

I've played over 470 games in the last 12 months and I'm currently playing 13-14 games at the same time.

It's a fantastic game( or is it an art) if anyone has never played, give it a go, you never know you might just be the next UM grandmaster.

With you and thistle playing, I sincerely doubt it!
