Are you a vegetarian? If so, or not, please give reasons.
I'll start...
I am a vegetarian. I haven't ever really like meat, even when I was little. It started out as me not liking the texture or something of that nature, but as I got older, there were some moral issues attached as well. I don't care if people around me eat meat, just as long as I don't have to. So, do tell, are you a vegetarian?
Edit: Please keep this civil.

Biologically and scientifically speaking, our human bodies was not meant for a total vegan diet.
leads to problem methinks.
gets loads of ppl here sayin how they dont like animals harmed, etc...

I am thinking about becoming vegan. Maybe when I am a bit older and can cope with it more.

Well, as long as you know what you are doing, and what supplements to take, people's bodies are usually fine with Vegan, or vegetarian diets.

I tried going vegan for about 6 months, and I had a really hard time with it. It's just not for me.
I'm sticking to the regular vegetarian diet.

I was raised to be vegetarian because Heart Disease runs in my Family, therefore everyone ate the Heart Assoc. diet.
but when I got terribly ill, my doctors said I was eating the wrong foods; too much vegetables & fruit. So now I eat from the Diabetic diet which has more protein & dairy. I don't like Portabella Mushrooms or Tofu, so now I have to eat beef, fish, chicken/turkey & pork.
As for the Carbs, I have to pick & choose; bread or fruit and I usually go for the fruit. Hispanic's love their fruit and I sure do miss a nice cold slice of watermelon or cantaloupe
So I vote No, and I hope y'all understand. High Protein diets help me feel so much better and then I can be more productive.

My daughter is 3 years old and doesn't eat meat. she spits it out and says I don't like it....I believe it is because of the texture and she just doesn't enjoy it. although she has ate a chicken nugget before but that is the only meat put into her mouth.
My friend who is or was going to be my step-dad is a vegatarian. he prefers to be like that for health reasons. he eats tofu and tempa. and all that stuff.

I am not. I don't feel that you should put the animal to waste if it is already dead. Even if you don't eat meat, most of us do... which in turn won't make any difference in helping animals stop being killed for food. All your doing is wasting the animal, having it killed for no reason by not eating it.

I have always told my daughter the truth and when she asked me where our food came from, I told her. So from age 3 until 16 yrs old she was a veggie-girl. But now she also has to eat high protein diets.

Oh, I am not bothered by other people eating meat. So I am not on a mission to save the animals. Not to offend anyone who is.
I never understood why some vegetarians try to change other people to their lifestyle. There is no point to it. I think they expect everyone to just stop eating meat, and let all of the animals that we have bred for it loose in the wild. The only thing wrong with that is that it would seriously screw up the ecosystem. Especially with all of the steroids and stuff like that we are feeding them to grow faster. I can't even imagine what that would do to other animals.

I love the taste of meat too much to give it up.
Plus, I'm not an animal lover, and I really don't care if they die/suffer so I can eat some burgers.

A bit harsh Andy. Although I am also an animal lover, I do love the taste of meat 2, and as you see in my other post why. Even though if I had the power to change the entire human race and make some kind of wonderful meat that everyone loved, and stop the killing of animals everywhere, I would. but unfourtunatly, I have to turn the other head for now and do my best to perserve the rights of our meaty friends

I'm not a vegitarian, but I do not go out of my way to eat meat, generally. I won't make it for myself, but if I'm cooking dinner for the whole family, I'll make whatever they want. I don't really dislike meat or anything.

I think it is highly hypocritical to say you're an animal lover and then turn around and eat meat.
Therefore, I have taken the stance that animals mean nothing to me.
I could not justify eating meat if I considered myself an animal lover.
I am a lot of things, but I'm not a hypocrit.

I've been a vegetarian for many many moons now, though I don't usually discuss it. I think what you eat is a personal choice. I don't try to influence those who do eat meat and I dislike people asking me to explain or defend my decision not to.
My choices probably aren't all that coherent. I don't eat meat of any kind, I do eat milk and milk products. I occasionally eat eggs, though I usually avoid them unless they're in something simply because I don't like them. I like honey but I haven't been able to eat it since it dawned on me that it's made of bee spit.

And, Queen of the Night, I'm sorry, but your argument that we're wasting animals by not eating them isn't logical. If we weren't vegetarians, there would be a greater demand for meat and therefore more animals would have to be bred for slaughter. Not trying to pick a fight -- as I said, this really isn't a topic I even like to discuss -- just pointing out the facts.

I don't mind people who are vegetarians unless they constantly try to get you to be a vegetarion. That one person who was a veggitarian until she got sick would always get mad when she saw people eat meat, she always tried to get others to stop eating meat, and worst of all she joined a hunters ed class and always complained that hunting was bad (there was another vegetarion in that class, but she came there to learn about animals, not complain). So if you are a vegetarian, keep it to yourself.

meat is wholesome. It is too bad that cows must be killed so that Moe may enjoy a good tenderloin with garlic mash at the Outback.
We suggested to the manager that they look into genetic engineering. There perhaps many years from now, in a large pink facility ran by a man named Jake, they may someday clone a cow made entirely of soy.

Well, if you know what to eat, such as proteins, and minerals, you can stay healthy. A good vitamin supplement also plays a role in it. If you don't give your body what it needs, then you will get very sick. That is why a lot of people who try to be vegetarian get sick, because they don't give their body what it needs.
