We all remember ALF, the cuddly Melmacian cat eater....or was that all a lie!? Last week for some unknown reason (possibly a conspiricy) I suddenly remembered ALF from the 1980's show entitled the same name, while reflecting on ALF I remembered his fondness for cats... for eating cats; however did YOU ever see ALF eat a cat? No, neither did I. He talked about it an awful lot, yet no action despite the fact neighbors had cats. Some times he would go out wearing a trench coat and you would think that some time during his years and years on Earth he would have splurged and eaten a cat at least once... And I'm sure it would have come up in conversation, ALF was never that great about keeping secrets. With this in place how are we sure anything he said wasn't a lie? Do you know what his real name on Melmac was? Gordon Shumway (Bahahaha), born to Bob and Flo Shumway, does this sound like a Melmacian name to you? What makes this all the more fishy is ALF's story: his "job" was to protect Melmac. But on October 28, 1986 the orbit guard could not protect Melmac from nuclear weapons and Melmac was blown up. To me it sounds strait out of Superman, not to mention if Melmac was blown up why was he spending time to fix his ship, where was he going to go?
But perhaps I am mistaken, after all there is a lot about this universe that I don't understand; mystic things like black holes and how an exploded planet can put itself back together. So perhaps Gordon Shumway did come from Melmac, and perhaps they were able to put the planet back together. If this is not the case, the Tanner family seemed pretty tolerant and I'm sure would have allowed a malformed short hairy, cat eating obnoxious, deep taking, shyster man into their house anyway. Poor Gordon, don't feel bad I won't judge you! I really do love ALF, i just thought i would share the ALF love with your all.

I think the animated series cleared it up pretty good that they did eat cat on Melmac. It has been a while, but I seem to recall that happening. It was clear that he was always looking for ways to eat Lucky however.

yes, but on occasion ive been known to furiously lick flesh for awhile, teasing myself with it. then i may nibble it for a bit- never actually eating it but rather just slurping on it.

it still falls within the rules of being a vegetarian.
