My personal favorite ...
QUOTE
The new bride must enter her home by the main door, and must not trip or fall - hence the custom of carrying the bride over the threshold.

I can't believe no one replied to this post. Where are the romantics??? grin2.gif

Here are a few more:

Marriage Magic for the Bride

Wear a white gown for purity, with blue accents for luck.

Green should never be worn by the bride or maids younger than she; however, bridesmaids who are older than the bride may wear something green if they desire to find a husband.

Try to awaken to the sound of singing birds on the morning of your wedding day for a peaceful and constant marriage.

Spiders symbolize the tapestry of life and bring prosperity to a marriage should you find one crawling on your gown or veil, or see one on the way to the wedding.

Do not cry before the marriage takes place, & be sure to smile when you meet the groom at the altar, or unhappiness may follow.

Marriage Magic for the Groom

Take care no to look upon the bride-to-be in her wedding attire before the marriage takes place, and no peeking when the bride walks up the aisle.

Once you are en route to the ceremony, do not turn back. If you have forgotten something, send a friend back to get it.

When you place the ring on your bride's finger, push it down as far as possible or the marriage may not last long.

If your bride assists in putting on the ring, she may be a strong force in the marriage.

The Honeymoon

Make like the Germanic peoples, and celebrate the wedding for thirty days following the event. Serve meade, an ale made from honey, to sweeten the marriage with fruitfulness and abundance.

Also, remember not to break anything while on your honeymoon, especially a mirror.

Lover's spats while honeymooning means the marriage will endure hardship and have a happy future.

The new bride may now wear the color green to honor Venus, the love Goddess and increase the love in her marriage.

Wedding Cake:

It symbolizes fertility and good fortune, it should be made of fine wheaten flour, and a rich mixture as is possible, to indicate abundance, the bride should cut the first slice or the marriage will be childless. And the husband will lend the knife or sword if he is a soldier.

When it has been distributed all must eat a bit, to refuse is very unlucky for the pair and the person that refuses. If a young girl keeps a bit and sleeps with it under her pillow wrapped up, she will dream of her future husband.

The bride should also keep a piece to ensure the husband is faithful.
