^ I think Saruman might do that after someone hits 20,000 posts. I wonder who that will be? laugh.gif

Neener innocent.gif

I know it would be harder to implement, probably impossible, you not think it would be a better representation if you had a rank that resembled which Forum you posted more in

I.e

If you posted 5000+ on Offtopic then you would have a status that represented the fact that you only post in that forum

etc.

Also if you posted 5000 + on every forum then you get the covented Forum divenity because you are part of the entire community rather than somone who wishes everyone&anyone happy birthday everyday rolleyes.gif
Saru
That's a good idea, but I think it would be a nightmare to implement.
Walken
I do think thats a great idea, Scar yes.gif
BurnSide
I also agree, that's marvelous!
'Crypto Buff' or 'World Events master' etc. laugh.gif
Scar
I meant just the 4 main Boards

Other
Unexplained Mysteries
Current Affairs and Conspiracies
News

i think it would increase the amount of disscussion about unexplained which cant hurt anyone.

I'm just wondering whether this idea is going to be used or not?

You see some people who have over 50% of their posts in the jokes forum - They must have at least another third of them in the General forum rolleyes.gif

I'm not saying this is necesserily a bad thing, just that it defeats the object of joining to talk about the unexplained.

However I do see flaws in the plan - For one thing, people who debate a lot will by put in the same catogorey as those who just post one-liners in the jokes and puzzels forum...
Saru
Due to time constraints on my part and the difficulty involved in implementing such a system, it is not likely to be happening anytime soon i'm afraid, if ever.

I think the proposed changes could cause more problems than they solve, the current post count system is more than sufficient for this forum.

Ah c'mon Saruman tongue.gif I've expermented with an invision forum before; it's so easy! Just enter the name, the amount of posts needed and the amount of squares or whatever tongue.gif

Maybe for 20,000 or something...

And you better hurry up ohmy.gif somebodies dangerously close to their 20,000th post *cough* Burnside *cough*

What you describe is how to implement the system we have already, not the system that has been proposed in this thread.

There is no way to assign different ranking titles for post counts based on which forum section they've posted in.

It would require PHP code modification of several forum scripts at the very least.
Hirotho
How about just all forum posts then?

Is that not the system we are using now ? hmm.gif
