I'm about to provide a link to a Flash based movie I made about a year ago. Nobody's ever really seen it and I'd like to share with everyone here. And, No it has nothing to do with me hating dogs, i just made what I made. Free flow of scenes. I love dogs.
It's based in Flash, but was made from vectorizing real video framew. Be patient, it's about a 5 meg file or so, but you can stare at the loading scene. It's interesting. You may wish to turn up the sound because it is a little quite. The music was composed by myself as well. Thanks a lot for any feedback...positive OR Negative.

here is the link....
Warning: Contains images that some people may find offensive or distressing
Yes, the actor is me too!

im disturbed. then again, that doesn't surprise me. you disturb me, Dust. i think im getting too old to find humor in guns and violent acts. i don't see why it would be necessary to make a film on that subject to begin with, much less to post it here. maybe you should put your efforts into positive ideas that could actually benefit humanity, not just pointless depictions of violent and irresponsible behavior. what sort of bizarro world would we be living in if people dealt with their problems in that manner? how many little kids are you influencing to act like idiots? you should think of that before you make another one.

I had to watch this twice, because the first time I didn't have my sound turned up loud enough to hear the music so I couldn't figure out what was going on. After watching it the second time I can say that it was disturbing (in a good way since it was just a movie). I don't know anything about creating flash animation so in that respect I'd say you did a great job. It was almost too out of focus, but after making it all the way through I realized that added to the movie and part of what made it good. You are a creative evil genius!

The music was really good, but with my crappy speakers at work, even turned all the way up, I could barely hear it. Are there lyrics to the song? Overall, I think what you've done is pretty damn cool! Are there more movies?

well well there it goes. I'm not like you think I am....really I swear!
Yeah yeah guns and violence are not really entertaining, especially with killin things. I never said this was humor either. But hey even negative feedback is helpful. Basically, It was just a technology test if not anything else. There was no dog, the gun is a BB gun (1970's spring action). I had randon clips of me "waking up disturbed" and walking around. Being a child of the action/horror movies of the 80's what else would I do? Tie in a reference to guns and senseless killing.
I like the people here and I know they are honest. I posted in the "Off-Topic" group. Was I out of bounds? I appreciate your criticism, but criticism is more helpful when it lacks self righteousness. You posed many questions, many of them which are good.
"what sort of bizarro world would we be living in if people dealt with their problems in that manner"
-well, where I come from, many people do deal with their problems in "that manner" ( I seem to recall OUr Race Riots a few years back here in Cincinnati). It's not okay. It sucks, but it happens. Is it wrong and out of taste to depict this?
"how many little kids are you influencing to act like idiots?"
-none. This isn't meant for little kids. Last time I checked it hasn't screened anywhere. I posted here because I believe all members to very mature, even the young ones like Raziel
Now I know it makes you feel good to say you're above all this and whatnot and don't find it funny in the least, but remember....where did I ever state it was funny?
I understand everyone of God's earth is entitled to their own set of moral beleifs, and that is great. But I think you are misinterpereting mine.
Just remember, the world is a crappy place sometimes, it doesn't help any to ignore it.
ANyways Thanks for the post though (I've been waiting for something!) and don't take any of my politics here personally. I like your posts. And I think you have a good website with some nice artwork. Keep it up. The world needs more artists. (and I hope we/our viewpoints can exist in harmony)

Sorry starlyte

no more movies. It was blurry, because all the pixel information for each frame was coverted into lines and vertexes. This saves File size and ads an animated quality. (Flash is all about vector lines...Points are plotted, then lines are drawn between each point..more or less in real time on your screen) <---that's the basic idea of it.
I have more of my music available at
www.kief.org but it is only looped samples from the songs...in the 'music' section. I plan on making every track available soon for free download as soon as I have time (I'm doing a lot now...getting married!! buying a condo!).
Thanks for the input

I haven't had a chance to look at the flash movie yet ( gotta hate 56k ), but I did have a look around your web site.
Really like the flash menu design and you have some excellent samples on there too.
As Starlyte said, good stuff

thanks man, I may make a small list type page with download links for the entire tracks for all you guys. It's more of a ...yes electronic (I hate the label techno), mix with ambient characteristics...and a lot of good old fashioned improvisation and "jimmi rigging".

hey, im just worried about the kids. i mean, recently ive had a yahoo news link i posted deleted because it talked about a scientific study on arousal (in a completely acceptable manner, mind you). i found it funny, but apparently it was too risque for one of the mods. apparently it was not material for this board, so i find it hard to believe your film is acceptable either.
maybe we should have a little chat on what is and what is not acceptable posting because im a little pissed off about that deletion.
if my post was deleted, yours should be too.

hmmm, i can honestly say I never read the TOS (terms of service). I assume everyone is like me...but of course, this is free domain for all age groups. Also some nations have different standards than others. Everyone knows that the U.S. is corrupt. I'm from there, I admit that. But I think "MTV" goes multinational too. Hehe I blame everything on MTV...well, that and the parents...and also out horrible school systems here. I don't think passing with honor's in Highschool for the one and only reason of being a star football player really helps the views of the intellectual students out there. Umm, okay, Off topic.......durrrrr
Umm I think everything should be fair game..minus a few things:
1. Porn
2. Needless Profanity
3. Advertisements
4. also people who aren't taking anything seriously....I guess you could label them Trolls

DS,
As I said before, I don't know who deleted your post, but you told me it was a post about Sexual Arousal levels based on a Pornagraphy Poll - not really the subject to be discussing on this forum. A moderator made the decision to delete that post, and I have no objections.
I haven't seen Dust's flash movie yet, so I have no grounds with which to argue for or against it being on the forum.

here is a summary.
It's dialog free, black an white.
A man awakes from bed to the sound of a dog barking. He looks disturbed.
He looks out the window, looks more disturbed.
He walks downstairs, and opens a drawer.
There is a gun in the drawer. He grabs it and studies it for a bit.
He proceeds outside...all the while, the dog is still barking obnoxiously.
A few seconds pass and the sound of gunshots erupt.
The barking ceases.
Cut to a seen of the same man playing with a dog (credit scene)
It is implied that the man shot the dog. Therefore any violence is only in the viewer's own mind. Can one be criticized for the thought of another?

Well Dust I don't think it's ready for Canns just yet

.
Well I apreciate on a technical level it works . You have achieved more than I have ever accomplished with a computer .
Perhaps though you should put a little disclaimer up around the link somewhere , you know a little "contains simulated violence " sort of thing . It was a little more than I wanted to see while enjoying my lunch
